Great drone shots mate. I got mine out last night and did some night missions. LOL. Haven't had the neighbours complaining about UFOs yet. I have blinking lights on it and you can see it from miles away.

Mine has 4 blinking lights. They are visible for about half a mile. I'm very considerate about flying it over anyone's space day or night. Drones are a great tool but need to be used with consideration. Most people don't understand the camera's abilities and immediately think you are spying on them. I'd hafta be hovering outside your living room window 50ft or less away to have any idea what was going on inside. :)

Boy, the video is motivating me to charge up my batteries and get flying. I haven't since last fall. I liked the flying through the trail.

Nice videos. Not meaning to hijack the thread but, what drone do you have? I'm thinking of getting one. I'll probably start another thread asking about drones.

:D ...and how do you know this exactly??? :p (just pulling your leg....)

He probably went up to his living room window and backed away until he could no longer see in. LOL Jon

Dj1 spark. Nothing fancy or super expensive but works surprisingly well for the price point. Only draw back is flight time. About 13-15 minutes from takeoff to land.

Do so... there are enough of us on TBN that have one. I am on my second... gave my first one to my son.

Yeah, Drones are a great tool. I've flown over crop fields shooting video for farmers to see the variations in their crops and/or chemical success.

I've flown over several homesteads taking pics and videos for people.

New construction is a perfect example. Pics can be used to locate buried utilities years later.

I took dozens of pics of my house and shop build. Took accurate measurements on the ground. Printed off drone pics and wrote in those measurements and filed them for future reference.

I enjoy flying. And it's a great tool.

Awesome videos. I definitely can see that drones can be a great toy, uh tool.;)

lol. Yeah he's been around long enough to not care about much anymore. He's doing surprisingly well for a Mastiff at his age and weight. 9-1/2 years old and 210 lbs. Here's a couple of other pics. One next to my son and another when we had to squeeze him into my Saturn to go to the vet. It was too cold for the back of the truck that day.

The heavier rain missed us again. I think we had a 1/2" if we were lucky over a 12 hour period so not enough for much runoff. Just a trickle yesterday evening when I walked back but did run into a group of 8 deer walking back out when I hit the field edge. I'll make it back there later today to look but not expecting much if any water. Working from the home office today and watching the small amount of snow on the ground melt.

Looks like we did get a small amount of runoff. Wasn't expecting any. I went ahead and flagged the waterline even though its a very small pool of water at the moment.

The fact that you got that is good. Means you are building in the right spot!!!!

So looking at that last pic, how many higher will the top of the dam be??

This project is getting me pumped up to do something similar!!!

It's only at about 6 feet right now. I would love to take it to 15 feet at the waterline but that is going to involve moving a whole lot of dirt. I may have to look at renting a dozer for a week.

That would give you a LOT of reservoir.

The ability to withstand heavy runoff would be controlled by two things. Free board on the dam. An earthen spillway in addition to the pipe.

I don't think I'd build mine without an emergency earthen spillway. In today's weather patterns you never know.

Would definitely need a spillway. I have a feeling there is a large amount of water that flows through here in a heavy rain.

I think it will be interesting to follow this project through a year or so of seasons and see your management/maintenance activities.
