to-20 Ferguson and Kubota m5400 with Quickie loader
So my manual states "Kubota Super UDT oil or SAE80.SAE 90 gear oil" should be used in the front axle.

I have half a bucket of Travelers UTF in the barn that meets Kubota UDT (Not Super UDT) spec and Kubota transhydraulic specs.

I also have a jug of "All Mineral SAE 90 Ford Tractor transmission fluid" for the tranny and hydraulics on an 8n.

I'm not sure what "All Mineral" means for oil.

Would either of these be OK to use? I'm thinking they both would be, and maybe the UTF would be better?

Thanks!

I would use what the Owners Manual recommends. I use 80-90 weight gear oil.

It's gears only, no hydraulics or wet brakes like are in a tractor "transmission". Use gear oil.

Kubota super udt or gear oil will work

So what's the real difference between Super UDT and just plain old UDT?

My manual calls for Super UDT in the tranny, but they don't even make it anymore, so I use the Super UDT2.

Also, the manual doesn't say 80-90 weight gear oil. It says SAE 80, SAE 90 gear oil.

So I'm wondering if 'all Mineral' SAE 90 is the same as SAE 90?

I believe the "All Mineral" is a GL1 lube for older geared tractors. Apparently newer lubricants can damage certain metals and seals in older machinery.

I personally would not use the "All Mineral SAE90" (GL1 ?) in the front axel of newer machine - it's definitely not what is specified by the manufacturer.

As far as UDT, SUDT, SUDT2 is concerned - any of these would be fine in your front axel. Folks are about 50/50 on wether to use UDT, SUDT, SUDT2 versus gear oil in the front axel. I use 80w90 gear oil in mine.
