They are calling for rain here starting late evening. I ran a couple of 8" drains through the top of the dam. They are only at about 4-5 feet but hoping we get enough rain to gauge the amount of runoff through this area. No significant rain so far this year. Enough rain to fill what I've done so far would be even better. At least If it holds or disappears after a couple of days I'll be able to decide to continue or not.

Put out a rain gage and keep track of it. once the ground is saturated, it can fill up fairly quick with a decent watershed.

Been following since the thread started, but figured subscribing is much easier than constantly scrolling all the posts to find this one haha. Very cool so far!

Yep. I think there's a way to subscribe without making a post but I don't know how to do it. So I make a comment or simply post "following" to get on the list.

Welcome to TBN.

Yep. In the beginning it might seem dismal at holding water. It'll get everything soaked and settled, then it'll do better.

Most of the rain last night and today missed us. Looks like next decent chance is Thursday.

We've been getting rain off and on since mid morning. Temp has dropped a LOT. It's 40F now with a blustery NW wind. We'll freeze tonight. Gonna be hard on my Pear tree since it's almost fully bloomed.....

Cold here as well. 31 right now as of 8pm. Was a nice 58 this morning. We had some very light rain. Most heavy rain split north and south.

Generally if I open up a ditch, footers for a building or begin a project such as yours, it signals old mother nature to start raining. FOR DAYS

A friend of mine ended a drought here a few years back by digging a hole for a swimming pool.

All that we need to do here is start up a timber harvest. My new get-rich-quick scheme is to buy a harvester and go into business ending droughts... something about the sound of that big diesel seems to make it rain.

If you don't mind, when you have the drone up sometime, give us an overall picture of your yard and where the lake is in relation to the yard etc.

I took the drone out yesterday and shot some video from the house back to the pond area for reference. My operating skills are not the best. It's actually my boys drone and I'm starting to get a better feel for it. I had to break it up into two videos due to flickers video length limitations. Looks like up to a half inch of rain then turning to a few inches of snow starting tomorrow afternoon into Friday morning here.

Here's a pic looking back toward the house from the pond area.

I've crashed my Drone three times. Every time was Pilot error. It takes flight time to become proficient. I haven't flown much this Winter so am very rusty. I enjoy doing it though. Thanks for the pics!!!

Here's what I woke up to this morning. Calling for 3-5" tonight and tomorrow. What the He**!!!! :)

That's exactly what I was thinking of when I asked for the video! Thanks. Looks like a nice area to live in.
