HAPPY EASTER!

Good morning to all! Low of 36, going up to around 60. Woke up to 25 mph winds, gusting to 45. Winds may increase to 65 mph gusts, maybe some precipitation tonight... snow? Rain? Mix? Your guess, my guess, will be just as good as the weather guessers at this time!

Not a good day to do any planting ! May go into the city to Lowes to get some bagged mulch. It is on sale at 5 for $10. Probably need at least 30, maybe 40 bags... We wanted to use the nicer real mulch vs. the free forest mulch. They have not been double shredding it, and there are a lot of big chunks / sticks in it. The store bought mulch has a nicer color too...

The TBN login took me back to 2011 this morning.....strange.

Sassy definitely wins the Easter hat competition! She is sooo cute! :cloud9:

I hope that judge realizes that he did wrong. I think he will pay for his misjudgment one way or another.

Hawkeye, sorry to hear about the fall. Hopefully those bruises are not too bad.

Kyle, can you ship some of that wild rye grass up here? I can do a study to see how hardy and drought / wind tolerant it is...

RNG, I went and picked up some gravel already... it is sitting on the trailer, only 2 tons, so delivery would be exorbitant ($40 / ton). Delivery would have cost more than the gravel! (Pic below). I could not let you get all the exercise mixing concrete, so I figured I could hand shovel the gravel off the trailer! Wifey used to drive the little tractor on occasion, she won t use this one at all. It is a gear / shuttle-shift and is too overwhelming for her.

I am sure I have missed other goings-on here... I am going to have to start making notes.... Mostly, is that your secret?

I hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday!

Happy Easter to all.

Mostly - wind gusts while weed eating blows the stuff even further. Less clumping and I don't get covered.

Finished up yesterday. Shoulder is quite sore. Need a new trimmer head. Does not feed line properly anymore.

Have a good day all. Be safe.

Well the forecast for wind was correct.... gusts now hitting 45... dust / dirt making ‘ brown out ‘ condition. Really frustrating that people overgraze their property with horses (that are seriously lawn ornaments... they never ride them) and all their soil blows away. I guess it could be much worse....
Ok, rant over...

once again I was transported by time machine back to Feb 2017, 12th of the month, like today is.

fired up my gas powerwasher, blasted pollen off motorhome and a few pieces of machinery and then called it quits.
Pretty day but storm's a coming.

Happy Easter everyone.

This one serious developing weather system. Impressive wind predictions for the NE.

66°F and no rain.

It’s Easter! I even caught the Pope’s Mass last night.

Not much a celebration here. I intend another few hours on the mower, but not yet near the previous precarious perch, but Zi will be mindful as I listen to tunes. I do need adjust the slip clutch first, slipping too easily.

We do have a Costco spiral ham to dress up for dinner. Some homemade mashed potatoes, a veggie, & a salad. We like to eat early so likely that will end my mowing for the day.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

If you took the tailgate off the trailer, you could lift the hitch with your FEL and dump it. Then spread as usual. I wouldn't wish shoveling gravel on anyone, Ted. Well, er, almost anyone...

On the R1 vs R4. I don’t think traction is my problem. In fact I seem to have less with the R1s, meaning it’s really too wet and I shouldn’t be there.
The R4s have a much wider lug and don’t did in as much as the narrower, deeper R1s, not sure than angle is a factor. r4s are also wider and have a larger radius meaning significantly more contact area. My R1s will leave a track most any day as we rarely dry out completely.

I haven’t found R21 specs ☹️. I have found the newr R14T which is a compromise R1/R4. Appears they even fit my current rims. More research as to local availability.

Easter meal for me will be ham with maple syrup as a glaze with pineapple and baked sweet potatoe maybe with MS on and asparagus.

People that keep horses just for the sake of keeping horses have more money than brains.

Yes, J- those wind speeds are crazy. Y'all batten the hatches.

Good morning! Happy Easter! 66˚F we are under a Tornado watch but I think the worst has passed. Lots of rain and thunder but it has quieted down now. I went to Randalls last night and filled my mom's grocery list. That will give me a legal reason to see her today without getting arrested. There were no lines at the store at 7PM last night and they had toilet paper. The only items still missing were yeast and clorox. Everybody is ready to get back to normal after 3 weeks of being shut down especially now after the judge incident and his sincerity toward this very normal flu season in Texas.

Don, before 6am, the local news said to alert anyone in the path of the tornado they were tracking. It had just gone through Marble Falls and was heading your way..according to their best tracking. It went between Cedar Park and Leander, but probably not as a tornado.

Good morning all. Calm, dry and set to rise to 22C/72F once again.

I think TBN may be experimenting with AI software to check content before accepting anything for posting. These last few days it has been erasing what I wrote and logging me out once I pressed the submit button. Maybe it failed a not interesting enough test. The tech support crew intervened and got be back on here once I sent them an email, so unfortunately you are stuck with my ramblings again.

Not that much has been happening around here, 3 afternoons have been spent trying to catch up on winter work, muck spreading. Still plenty left in the pile.

Once the spreader is full it takes my friend about 10-15 minutes to empty it and return. In between I have been sat in the cab, listening to a downloaded series of radio programs about Apollo 13. Absolutely captivating. If anyone else would like to listen, it says it is available on the BBC world service BBC World Service - 13 Minutes to the Moon, Season 2: The Apollo 13 story, or if that doesn't work search for "BBC Season 2: The Apollo 13 story"

Sodamo, does playing the rolling stones remind you to keep away from that steep drop off ? :D

LS, good to see your water feature coming to life after so long in storage

Rick, I weep each time I see you with burn piles for your live oak. In contrast, earlier this week I was cutting and stacking every piece down to 1" diameter from the overhanging oak branches I trimmed a couple of weeks ago. The remaining twigs are piled high, later I will spend more hours breaking them down into cubic yard bags for kindling. Very time consuming, but It keeps me out of trouble - you must get up to all sorts of mischief with all that extra time on your hands. :)

Glad for you to be "rambling on" here again.

Not sure if you would want this stuff. It has taken over like kudzu. Like RNG said, just lift the tongue of your trailer with your FEL.

Hawkeye, hope the backend doesn't trouble you too much.

Ron, thinking of you. My mom is all by herself. I need to call her. Drew, you too.

I sure miss motorcycle racing. All kinds. Dirt, asphalt....flat track, you name it. Watched a New England hill climb the other day. It wasn't one of the really big races, but there were some strong competitors.

Me and daughter went looking for dewberries. Gonna be another "thin" year like last year here. It is still a bit early, next couple of weeks should be a bit better.

I killed a chicken snake yesterday, about to eat a couple of eggs... maybe 3' long. I got him before he got them.

Wifey is cooking up a big ham, making a vanilla cake from scratch, and some sort of garlic potatoes. Not sure what else yet. I'm staying out of the kitchen, maybe go look for some more dewberries.....

Have a blessed day all.
