Good morning!!!!

Good morning to all! Low of 36, going up to 76. Breezes at 15-25 mph, but sunny.

The fire in Florida made our local news Drew, quite the inferno. Wonder how it started....

Rich, the brisket sounds delicious. How long did you smoke it for? I have not had any luck doing brisket

I forgot about all the things I need to do this morning, so the next phase of the landscaping is briefly on hold. Morning and afternoon will be tied up for sure. First up is going to the grocery store. I hope there is enough stock left for what we need.

Got to get moving... everyone have a great day!

Did your neighbor (Louis?) ever get his new tractor? Which model did he decide on?

I hooked one of my neighbors up with John Ryan and he picked up his very lightly used XG3135H last week. This is his first tractor.

Good morning! 61˚F cloudy. We had 2" of rain over the weekend. Today might be an attic day - I'm extending the walkway so that extra bracing can be added to the ceiling so when the sheetrock people come in 6 weeks I'll be ready. I considering letting my wife cut my hair.

I'm not impressed with the new site.

Good Morning!!!! 42F @ 6:30AM. Cloudy early, becoming mostly sunny this afternoon. High 63F. Winds light and variable.
Still some scattered showers hanging around this morning; picked up an inch and a half of much needed rain over the weekend, and we'll be in the 80s by the end of this week:cool2:.

Had a tentative visit from the propane man to install the big tank today, but postponed it for a few days to let things dry out. Don't need big ruts in the ground, or worse, a tipped over crane truck.

Barely have the time to keep up with this thread, and get enough unfriendly politics on Facebook. Too bad we all can't just get along, especially in these challenging times.

An out-of-town contractor working on a construction project at the college in Chico was found to have CoVid-19 over the weekend, bringing our total number of cases to 12 in the county. There's a fairly large number of pending tests, though, and poor availability in general to even get a test, so there are probably a lot more cases out there than the numbers show.

I'm out of fresh fruit, working off powdered milk, and need one last load of concrete, so I'll probably head into town tomorrow early to take advantage of the 60+ hours at Costco. I don't usually shop at Walmart, ours isn't a Superstore with groceries anyway.

Dug an old N95 mask out of the roll away yesterday, and tried it on to make sure it fit well and I could breathe freely through it. Checked out OK, and with it and a small bottle of hand sanitizer, I should be OK in town tomorrow.

Put a list of parts together for the tractor yesterday, and will call Messick's later to order them instead of using the local dealer. I'll save sales tax, and avoid a face-to-face that way.

I'm looking at some quality time with a shovel today, probably digging out the trench for the electrical line running between garage and pump house, but I also need to get the access ports open to the septic tank so it can be pumped later this month. No more rain in the 10-day, so want to take advantage of the soft ground before it dries up.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

48 here going to 66. Was able to get some plants yesterday and put in the wifes rose bushes. Spread some lime in the back yard. it was mid 70s here yesterday. warmest day by far this year. Went out rock collecting Sat with the tractor to clean up one of my fields. Also moved out more brush and dead trees. Rocks20200404_110930_resized.jpg
Spent more time off tractor with shovel this weekend. But have a SCUT to move rock is priceless :)
Hope all are well and reading all of the ongoing I hope everyone gets well and stays safe.

45°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 73°. Supposed to get into the low 80s the next couple of days. No more rain in the forecast until Sunday.

Most of the weekend was a wash here, as rain and cool temps kept us indoors both days. Wifey got a lot of work done on a memory quilt she's making for her ex-SIL, and I got a lot of puttering done in the studio. She ordered chicken feed online for curbside pickup at TSC, but when I got there I ended up having to go inside to retrieve it anyway. The process took twice as long as if I had just walked in and bought it as usual. Put gas in my car yesterday, pay at the pump, and got a notice on the screen to "Please Go Inside For Receipt." (sigh) I guess Casey's General Store has taken this opportunity to save on receipt paper at the pumps, as I've gotten this same notice at three different locations. I barked out loud about it, got in my car, and left without it.

Happy (belated) Anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. BEF.

Going through the barncam pictures this weekend, wngsprd, I saw one of a fox staring at the chicken coop. Your 'yote looks miserable.

Count me amongst the envious, Buppies. I'd love to have a .357 lever rifle. Will hopefully be easier to justify to the CFO when we get the new range built and start shooting more again.

Roy, when the .22 panic hit a few years ago, we were able to find pretty much everything we wanted by using AmmoSeek. Now, if it's something I don't reload, that's where we look first.

Thanks for he heads-up on the Lynxx pole saw, Ron. We're getting ready to clear some fence line in the pasture, so I'll be sure to check all that before I take it out there.

Congrats on finishing your carport, David.

Your project is looking great, Ted. Nice work.

Eric, no sugar tonight in my coffee, no sugar tonight in my tea (sorry, couldn't resist). I don't drink much coffee these days, but I've been drinking it black since I weened myself from sugar and cream back in my early 20s. I've always preferred tea without sugar, but I'm not averse to a glass of sweetened ice tea.

A clear and sunny 34ºF for today's low; a clear and sunny 45ºF presently; and I expect a clear and sunny afternoon in the low to mid 50ºF's. *A great day to appreciate and putter around outdoors.

I had a scheduled "wellness check in" with my PCP/NP this morning. *I was encouraged to stay in place as much as possible the next 2 - 3 weeks, and I should*wear my N/P 100 face mask in public. It was an interesting conversation. Apparently he had studied all my diabetes records and feels that I may not need insulin, or very little. We will continue this discussion if/when C-19 becomes a bad memory. *

I did not mention the face*shield.

Ted- Nice landscaping. Your are making me hungry for CS. I hope that yourswork out as usual. There’s a nearby curbside pickup pizzaria/subshop 14 miles down the road who make decent pizza (2 for 1) and great cheesesteaks.

Hawkeye- Ever since the Head of the Arts & Recreation Department forced a “smores party” on my Alzheimer’s unit I have avoided them. 28 sticky chocolate coated combative to care residents. The unit was a mess; months later I was still finding evidence of that :censored: “party”.

Bill- I think it was/s a good year for sugaring around here.

Eric- Thanks for the laugh. This morning I had the usual rolled oats/water nuked and add some local honey for sweetener; sometimes with yogurt.

Billy- Brogen is back to his normal self. Our Gov is recommending that people in public should wear some form of face mask. Depending on the C-19 #’s here I may wear that N/P 100 the next time I go to the supermarket. I will be wearing nitrile gloves. I really do not give a $h!t what strangers think.

Rich- Good luck with the internet technician. I hope he can get it running as expected. Your brisket reads to be great eats. I smoke a mean (jerked) rib, but like Ted I can not smoke a brisket; but with the smokehouse down the road I really do not have to anymore.

RonJH- Thanks for sharing another bird pic. A cyber-friend on another site’s husband was wearing a mask like mine in a supermarket in PA and he started getting harassed by (a possibly impaired) fellow customer.

RNG- Have a good day shoveling and good luck with your foray into public.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

I briefly checked out TNT and I will not be back.

Politicizing C-19 is killing people. We are all in this together or should be. Pols' fingers are pointing everywhere and at everybody w/o taking personal responsibility for their actions/inactions despite their party affiliations. We are all to take credit/blame for what has been done and/or not done and who we have elected from any political persuasion. Results matter. Get the incompetents, panderers, and sycophants who can not meet the expectations of their electorate out of office..... vote and put pressure on your reps despite your leanings to do the right thing which is to compromise for what's in the best interests for us the electorate and not for themselves, the pols.

End of rant. It will not be repeated here.

I hope and pray that more people will come to their senses despite evidence to the contrary so far.

.

When that happens I take a picture of pump screen.

+ Thanks

My FIL used to reload his own. I used to take dads 22-250 to him to reload. For awhile he reloaded for one of the gun shops in town.

Drinking first cup of hot coffee. 26ー with clear skies this morning. Heading to 58ー with cloudy skies. Got all the branches moved to chipper pile. Got top link cylinder check valve project completed. First use will be when I put Chipper on tractor. But not today. Need to get started on cleanup of garden pond. Counted 10 fish that made it thru winter. 1/2 dozen frogs already this year.
Upside down Downy Woodpecker is back.

Looking 5 liters of maple syrup? What do you use that much on?

Cereal, ham (glaze), sweet potatoes, pancakes, did I mention cereal? Frozen yogurt, ice cream and a whole raft of other stuff.
