My syrup guy is delivering 5 Litres of syrup today...$70.oo in total works out to $14.oo/L

A bank run is in the cards for today and maybe the hardware store again.

We’ve been fortunate of late in that our newest neighbor got bees and has been generous with the honey. Wife has been giving her jars and I gave them a 14 ft pallet the other day. They were thinking of wholesaling the honey.

Pressure washers split late yesterday...yeah...I was washing wife's tractor. Bolt housing look to have given way. Split right where those hose assembly connects to bigger assembly...yeah I only operate it...don't know what makes them work. Looks repairable...but it is over 25 years old....time for a new one?

Picked up order from Walmart last night. Lots of substitutes and out of stock items. No chicken...fish..TP..paper towels..wine..spray cleaner...

Disappointing..lots of people out and about...no masks. Most store lots not as busy....

53 going to 69. Had a shower around 3am...weather man said only 20% chance so I left tarps off firewood...well, they'll dry out.

Jay, hope Brogen is feeling better. Wearing a mask in public in Virginia is illegal. One lady was arrested for wearing a bandana over her face at a rally at the state capitol grounds in February when the temps were in the 20s. I guess they aren't enforcing that law so much now.

Eric, had oatmeal for breakfast yesterday at your suggestion. No sugar for coffee or tea for me. Saw the Queen on the news this morning talking the Covids.

Spinach and lettuce are sprouting in the little raised garden we made next to our asparagus patch. Yesterday, we weeded the flower beds, and I used the grass to cover the remaining bare spots over the French drains I installed a couple of summers ago, and over the spot where the septic tank opening was dug to pump out a couple of months ago. Finished splitting and stacking firewood, and mowed the Frisbee field and the trails.

Good morning! 30 now, 62 later. Supposed to be dry today. Drizzled most of the afternoon yesterday. Started as we got home from getting groceries.

Allegedly, there is going to be a tech here this afternoon to try to get the internet to work. To be fair, my experience with the techs when they FINALLY get here has been excellent. It is all the BS involved with the online and phone support that is beyond painful. Plus the frequency of complete outages.

We went shopping yesterday. 1st time in 3 weeks we bought bread at the grocery store. Pickings were SLIM though, fortunately, they had a couple of loafs of what we like. I have been getting bread at the local gas station/convenience store. They also stock what we like. Paper goods aisle was still empty. Oddly, the chilled juice cooler was almost empty. Aisle with wipes and disinfectant supplies was virtually empty. Overall, a lot of the shelves seemed less full.

Smoked a brisket yesterday using a rub someone gave me for Christmas. It was a Jack Daniels brand beef rub. Was actually pretty good. Put some inexpensive bourbon in the water pan. Wife made potato salad. Both turned out quite good.

Since it was raining, ended up reloading some .38痴 for target practice.

Everyone is too busy to keep up with!

Plans for today...Quick trip to town for meds and critter food,clean rake wood pile area if not to muddy,check game cams relocate 1 cam hopes Boo photo taken,other than that take day as it comes.

Drinking first cup of hot coffee. 26° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 58° with cloudy skies. Got all the branches moved to chipper pile. Got top link cylinder check valve project completed. First use will be when I put Chipper on tractor. But not today. Need to get started on cleanup of garden pond. Counted 10 fish that made it thru winter. 1/2 dozen frogs already this year.
Upside down Downy Woodpecker is back.


Eric, I have been off sugar and cream in coffee for so long that if someone serves either in coffee or tea it taste like syrup.

Rich, good that you are able to stay in. I made it to day 20 then went out. Now at day 4 starting over. Hope they get internet back up and running.

Jay, good mask and shield. Now go out and take pictures of the people you meet while you are wearing it. :shocked::confused2:

Wngsprd, I need to start a garden. Have to pick a spot to start it. I have a few weeks to get it started. No planting here before Memorial Day.

Riptides, I bought a 2100 psi electric PW last year. Has be great for buildings that all have electricity in them. My gas unit got little use last year.

Looking 5 liters of maple syrup? What do you use that much on?

Hawkeye, sitting in front of a fire is very relaxing.

Mostly, I need to get back on my bike. I have stopped doing rides on my recumbent exercise bike. Ankle does not like it. Lot of bike riders on road in front of my house yesterday.

good morning all.
Early trip downtown, wearing a mask as an increasing number of folks doing.
Barber shop closed, no surprise. I had a new basic white mask to give to him, to use while
giving me a haircut and to keep thereafter. No sale.

headed out with Gravely garden tractor to mow roadside at far side of property.
Then rain comes in after lunch and an inside day.
Picked up a few things at dry cleaners, no one there but manager up front, behind a big plastic shield.
Carefully used hand sanitizer afterwards I keep in car.
