Too good to be true but what is the catch?

I don't see any part of that link that implies legitimacy. There was another thread a few months back about some super duper extra spiffy Dewalt deal from a popular website. Turned out completely bogus as I recall.

It certainly seems to good to be true. I’m not sure what list price would normally be but I’d guess over $500.

I'm sure you know if you find a deal too good to be true it usually is. They may sell you a drill, possibly with other stuff, but don't expect it to be a genuine Dewalt drill. If you do a reverse search on the phone number (661-784-5802) you will get no information - I checked. The area code places it near Los Angeles County. I'd keep my $99 - in fact I will.

2x 2Ah batteries really isn't that much of an offering... and I think that that is the catch.

Seeing as one manufacturer's battery isn't transferable to another brand, it may lead to you having to 'lock yourself in' to having to always buy Dewalt 'skins'.

Even if there wasn’t a battery at all that’s still a too good to be true price. Btw a two pack of the 2ah battery is $99 plus tax.

There was a similar scam on Milwaukee tools before Christmas.

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Same sites have lots of tools at a fraction of the real price. Look at start date for the site.
Recently created site, scamdoc store of 8% (100% is perfect, so ....)

I started a thread last year, pretty much the same as this. I bought a set of DeWalt tools and waited three months with zero contact front seller. My credit card reimbursed the amount. I would advise to just stay away as it’s too much trouble to deal with.

I went "all in" on Dewalt 20V MAX & 60V tools last year and I absolutely love them. Their big impact wrench blows me away. I also really like the worm gear framing saw and the nail gun ... Very nice to operate when framing.
ZERO regrets.

DeWalt Tools are generally good and I also like Bosch and Makita too. I’m still amazed at battery technology, that’s a lot of tool for a battery.

For sure, but not from a scammer.
Good brand name tools very rarely have deep discounts, in fact if they advertise as such the manufacturer will cut them off.

About the only 'discount' will be on used or re manufactured tools.

Also try to find a discounted brand name battery! Same thing. Brand protection.

Occasionally some manufacturers will offer a promotion to their better volume clients but often it is via free addons., like free drill bits, carrying case etc.

Got this impact wrench at Atwoods last week.




They make you buy a little bit kit that doesn't go with the Driver but still wound up being $70 off the lowest price I could find for 2 batteries, Driver and dual charger.
