Ford 1700 hydraulic question

Hello, since we are stuck at home trying not to catch the coronavirus decided to do some pm work on the 1700. In the process had to remove the hydraulic pump to get at the fuel injector pump. Now once everything is put back together cant get the hydraulics to operate at all. I do have a manual but one thing Im not sure about is adjusting the discharge pressure. Should I open the relief valve all the way open and slowly bring turn it back in while the tractor is running ?

Did the hydraulic worked before disassembly? if so, then why do you want to work with pressure adjustment? do you have a liq filled pressure gauge good to 3000 psi? your pump might have lost the prime, the pump inlet is slightly higher than the tank (diffy connection) so prime can be a bit of issue? so I take it tractor is working and running after injector pump replacement?

Thanks JC, got it figured out l just loosened the discharge line at the pump until oil came out. Must of had air trap8 in the pump. Thanks for your help though and stay heathy

Awsome !, You just burped it out the air. Most likely it was the air in the line rather than pump. You stay safe as well . We all are hunkered down, teleworking and following the social distancing thing. I went out only once in the last 10 days for groceries . I hope all of us pass this blight here and overseas and back to normal soon.
