Massey 1135 Went out to put out hay, the rear lift won't go down. Leaks down after setting all night but raises all the way up with control handle in down position when engine starts. Never any problem before now. Front end loader works fine. I've owned the tractor over 30 years.

Any insight into this issue? My client bought a 1135 and it was claimed the 3 point will go down with implement weight on it....False...unless the implement weighs a half ton.

I opened the lines and it still required a large force to push down.

Not many replies in this forum...or any other?

If you have the manual there's an extensive section on troubleshooting. There are plenty of tests and adjustments described but it takes some study.
One reply said it's the oscillator valve...that's way inside...ugly job. best to look over the drft control and position controls to see if there's adjustment needed.

let's talk...this issue needs to be resolved pretty soon before he really needs the 3-point.

Problem came from brakes being worn out. Tractor being used very limited only on the farm, brakes weren't a big concern. Since the brakes are located in the rear end housing where the oil reservoir is also located, the transmission oil which is also the hydraulic oil got contaminated and plugged up the hydraulic system. Not completely stopped up but some of the valves stuck sometimes. Changing the hydraulic filter helped temporarily but not a fix. No hydraulics equals no steering. Now with new brakes, several valves changed out or rebuilt, an $8500.00 repair bill the old tractor is back in use. A nickels worth of free advice, fix your brakes.

Next issue with the 1135. After brakes and hydraulic repair, problem with the PTO. Tractor has an engage and disengage lever at the rear of the tractor. Disengage works as it should. PTO does nothing. When engaged the control on the dash is supposed to turn it on and off. There's the problem. Same control activates the multipower on tractors with that transmission. This tractor has 8 speed 4x2 transmission. When the "rear" lever is in the engaged position and the dash control is in off, the PTO slowly begins to spin. The dash valve has been changed with two other similar valves and nothing changes. A line from that valve runs to the priority valve, it has been changed with two other similar valves. No change. Dealer that repaired the hydraulic system has no idea. The PTO was perfect before the brake and hydraulic repair.
