kubota or mahindra

You are really a huge Orange Kool-Aid fan.. It must really chap you that Kubota doesn't sell as many tractors as Mahindra. You might want to invest in some of that chap cream. I bet you can get it in Kubota orange. And it will be better than any other brand because of the color !

They say ''Best selling tractor in the world'' No where do they mention India

There’s 1.3 billion people in India and like 350 million in the United States. Now out of those numbers how many have tractors? I don’t have that data but I think we all know which has more. Point being if every single person in the United States United States owed a Kubota they couldn’t change that number. Yes I know Kubota exports more places than the United States but they still can’t change that number. If you can put your Kubota bashing aside long enough to think logical please explain how world sales have any bearing on the quality of USA available options. Nobody asked if Kubota or Mahindra sells more tractors. If you want to come up with more useless comparisons how many motorcycles does it take to equal a dump truck?

Does anyone really doubt that Kubota is the CUT Market leader in North America?

From Rural Lifestyle Dealer - May 18, 2017:

According to UCC filings*, through the first 11 months of 2016 Kubota held a market share of nearly 47% in the tractor ranges up to 80 horsepower. Deere was a distant second with 19%.

Other than the Chinese brands, I think that any make of CUT will get the job done. I wouldn't mind owning a Mahindra, but there more than a few comments on TBN about build quality and leaks. My own observation on Mahindra dealer lots has been that some models seem to be a bit crude compared to Kubota B or Grand models. Not Belarus crude, but less than would be acceptable to me for my hard earned dollars. Some models seem to be better designed/constructed.

I think Mahindra is in the US for the long haul. Let's hope their quality and parts availability improve.

Finially, I don't think the choice is binary. Depending on size, I would also look at Kioti or Yanmar.

world sales says a lot. There are other tractor companies throughout the world. But mahindra out sells them as well. And to be such a sorry tractor at that ! LOL

Quality ? LOL I have lived the Kubota quality. I could have gotten the same options on a mahinda tractor as I have on my MX500.
Really more options for less money than Kubota. But I didn't buy new.

I don't see those on the mahindra thread crying because they didn't buy a kubota

Perhaps you can visit their forum and convince them that Kubota is superior to mahindra.
You sure have convinced yourself

I wouldn't dispute that. As I have stated. A lot of that has to do with their finance program
Go purchase a kubota for a small fee of about $400.00 and finance up to 84 months @ 0%
I don't know many (if any) other tractor manufacture that does this

So, the fact they probably sell more here, doesn't mean all other tractors are inferior to a kubota

/ kubota or mahindra #126
If price and availability was equal how many US Mahindra owners would have bought a Kubota Grand instead? My guess pretty much all of them. I don’t think anyone needs convincing which is better. Price has a lot to do with decision making.

Are you seriously claiming a finance program would influence the results but a sample size of 1.3 billion vs 350 million doesn’t make any difference? Wow.

Like I said. Go to the mahindra page and try to convince them Kubota is superior to any mahindra they have

You should try a different Kool Aid brand some time. It may just be an eye opener for ya

Again, Kubota will about give you a tractor as long as you can make a payment at 0%

I don’t really care what the Mahindra owners believe. But most of them selected because of lower cost or other reasons not because they felt they were better. And of every other major us player Mahindra would be my last choice so you can bring me whatever flavor koolaid you want. If I couldn’t have a Grand L my next choice would be Kioti. But I really don’t care about compact tractors anyway. If you’re giving away free equipment I’ll take a KX80 excavator and 95-2 CTL. But if that’s too much to ask I don’t have anything against yellow Deere.

0% is the biggest come-on in the marketing world and is surprising how many people fall for it whether it's a tractor, car or furniture. People think, "well, I'll just use their money to buy what I want"and leave mine in the bank". All the while they are forgetting that whatever finance charges they think they're not paying, is already built into the pricing of what they're buying.

Some stores used to give you an option of 0% or low financing and reduce the pricing. What has made it worse is that many are not doing that anymore because it showcased that indeed you were paying something more for 0% and that "0" is not really free". So now that $32,000 tractor that has no business being that high of msrp but has "take it or leave it 0%," has about 3 or 4 grand "built in" to cover the finance charges that they make believe you're not paying.

It has shown to be a very effective marketing tool.

I don't think that people "fall for it". My own opinion is that people are aware of how and why that 0% financing is offered and also have a pretty good idea where the costs are coming from.
They accept it for other reasons. I think most understand what 0% is and know what and why they are buying. It is worth it to them. It was to us.

I don’t think most people understand otherwise it wouldn’t be a successful marketing ploy. For those of use that do understand there’s not much choice but to follow along. Sure we could pay the full amount up front but there’s not much point since you don’t get a discount.

/ kubota or mahindra #135
Their Evil plan would be revealed if they gave a discount. So I guess they forgo those few cash sales they might loose. I bought a battery in a very comptitive marketplace and then at the end of the day, the guy didn't care that I put it on CC. Makes no sense financially. I ALMOST felt like asking for a cash discount if the three or whatever percent didn't matter to him. An asian business person, I found tends to be more astute in that regard.

OK. We agree to disagree. Nothing wrong with that.I think most people are more asture than you are giving them credit for.
I'd agree if a discount was the only possiblity. But there are lots of other reasons that make 0% credit attractive.

My old southern friend of many years would say don't tell me how much it costs but what is the monthly payment.LOL.Agree with you rScotty

The real question is how much do you pay total in the long run. Plenty of these tractors have a cash/outside finance price and then you can get your own outside financing and often save money vs going with the zero finance. You have to look at it several different ways. Plus never just pay the price they tell you. Be willing to walk.

Or at least try and get stuff thrown into the deal. That, they may be able to hide. Especially USED stuff.
