uhm.....so does ordering new measuring cups because "We got tired of the plastic ones getting flipped around in the dishwasher and not drying off by themselves." Noooo! The horror!!

What is your point?

BUT, it was still not over because some guy was not paying attention and bumped the car in front of him in a backed up traffic. So it was five accidents in less than 24 hours.
The VFD was really busy.
I have lost count of the number of accidents but I would guess I have seen 20+ on that road at this point. Most of them are people just driving off the road. I don't know if they fall asleep or get distracted with the radio or the phone....
I work with a bunch of guys in the local VFDs, we have a state road that is 2 lanes in each direction and while it is posted at 55MPH (or less) it frequently has cars going 65-70.
Their procedure is that if they are working an accident, the road gets shut down (in both directions unless it is an area with a median).
If they do allow traffic through (ie: if they can work the scene with a lane of traffic open), they keep it backed up so that there is a minimum of 5 cars in line and they keep the cars backed up going through the accident area so they are bumper to bumper to make them keep their speed down.
Only needed because people drive like idiots.

I am afraid you are right. I ordered a set of stainless measuring cups for the kitchen a week or two ago. We got tired of the plastic ones getting flipped around in the dishwasher and not drying off by themselves. I was in my shop sharpening my saw chains on a Sunday and someone pulls up in an unmarked, nearly empty Transit, asked me if I lived there and hands me the measuring cups. I did not pay anymore than standard ground freight (I always select the lowest cost freight) and someone along the line thinks I need them special delivery on a Sunday. This concept of instant satisfaction perpetuates waste in transport which drives unneeded traffic on our roads. Crazy.

Sorry, for calling you out. I'm sure you're a decent guy. ...but you have to admit, there's a certain irony in talking about people's "concept of instant satisfaction perpetuates waste" when the reason for the delivery in the first place is...oh never mind...
Enjoy your new stainless steel measuring cups. Toss those plastic ones in the trash, they get water in them when washed.
...don't get me wrong. I've done and reserve the right to do the same too.

My wife is recovering from two cancers she had at the same time, stage 3 and stage 2. She cannot do much and her energy level is very, very low. She wants to help out in the kitchen and emptying the dishwasher is one thing she likes to do. She does not like the plastic measuring since they do not dry on their own and always end up not where they should be. So I got stainless ones for her. They stay in place and dry off shortly after she opens the door. Sorry for calling YOU out.

You knew the point when Coby brought it up. You still know the point.

I know I bought the measuring cups for my wife as she was recovering from cancer in spite of the comments Coby made, but he did not know that at the time. You, on the other hand with this post,,, well I will just leave it at that. I will put you on my ignore list. Have a great life and maybe find someone else to snip at.

On a different note, the wife and I hauled a couple calves to sale barn this afternoon. I turned south at the intersection I previously mentioned TxDot screwing up. On the northbound side there were zero vehicles in the turn lane and probably twenty in the other. Powers that be are ignorant.

Someone sure did not analyze their traffic flow data correctly before designing that intersection.

Coby's point was how we complain about a problem that we contribute to. That's how us humans are. His comment wasn't personal and neither is mine. That's my point.

Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

One thought... I was riding right seat on a cross country motorhome trip... The driver was going faster and faster and I said slow down... The Ford 460 just downshifted when brakes applies... it was a tense white knuckle ride on a twisty mountain road... The cruise control locked on and could not be disengaged...

Driver was in a panic and shifted into neutral and the motor roared where I thought it would grenade... Driver turned off ignition but went to far and locked the wheel I reached over and turned the key on and grabbed the wheel...

It could have just as easily ended in tragedy... Mechanical failure.

Being in the middle of nowhere I disconnected the cruise module from the cruise module so we could continue... Had the Ford Dealer in Boise replace it...

It reduces thread count. Also, endless quotes causes a thread to be vastly longer than it needs to be. Endless and needless repetition!

I "THINK" someone is following too close? That's stupid! They ARE according to any driving instruction I ever got.

Also quite stupid to impy that any driving of mine, would be intended, to create a traffic jam.

Such as people who have to list single piece of equipment they own in their profile to make people think they are special??
