RNG, I truly had an addiction for accessories for my Goldwing when I had it.... I could not let a piece of chrome trim get by me on EBay. Half of the stuff I turned around and resold. It was a relief in more ways than one when I sold the bike.

In 1985, I bought a new Honda Aspencade. For those who don't know, that was a 1200cc Goldwing with AM/FM auto volume stereo radio with cassette player, all digital instruments that oddly enough were clearly visible in all light conditions. I was surprised that it did not originally have cruise control, but the dealer added the cruise control, a back rest for the front seat, sheepskin seat cover, cigarette lighter, and a trailer hitch and lights. Of course I also bought a trailer to pull behind it.

I've owned Zundapp, Yamaha, BMW, and a couple of other smaller Hondas, but I just cannot imagine a better motorcycle than that Aspencade. I rode it to the FBI National Academy, and on weekends for that 10 weeks, I ran all over the D.C. area, up into New Jersey, over into Pennsylvania, etc. in addition to riding all over the Dallas area, and down to the Texas coast before and after going to D.C.

I still have an '85 Interstate, Bird. Although, probably not for long. I didn't ride at all last year, and it's starting to become a bit of a money pit. It's still a great bike, but just getting too old (I call it the 'Oldwing). They eventually did away with the Interstate vs Aspencade, and I believe they no longer have the digital meters either.

I've had bikes from BMW, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Honda. Of all of them, I like the Goldwing best (the BMW R100RT was a close second, though).

Ron, tell your son... AWESOME! Now he has to schedule some time at a track to see what it will really do!

Son told me part of the package that came with car is training at Charlotte Motor Speedway plus a few other perks.. That's one of reasons dealer wanted $20K over sticker. But may have got it from the 350. Son lives in Mooresville, NC.

Roy- Take care. I'll pile on later. ;)

RonJH- Congratulation on your Son's new Mustang

Lithophilia is a very rare disorder normally found only in arid areas areas with constant winds and blowing particulate matter. Theories vary as to its causes, but some research has implicated airborne magnetite/ferrous oxide particles magnetic fields interacting with the cerebral synaptic transmission sites. Compounding this possible interaction is the earth's shifting magnetic field. Some researchers fear that a global magnetic field reversal would exacerbate the condition. There is no known medication that has proven therapeutic nor clinical intervention. Usually those so affected do not seem to care and are resistant/noncompliant towards treatment. There have been unconfirmed reports of violent aggressive acting out behaviors exhibited by those so affected when denied access to and/or restricted from their stone/gravel sources and/or equipment needed for acquisition.

When Ted starts hoarding and hiding stones around the house and/or on his person, talking and posting in "tongues" and operating his tractor in usually in reverse we'll all know there is a challenge ahead.

A clear and sunny 3ºF for today's low temperature; a sunny 13ºF presently, and I anticipate a sunny afternoon with high temperature in the low 20ºF's. Something is in the air today. Why is there sand particles in my nose?

I hope that everyone is having a decent day. Those healing/mending continue to do so, and for those still talking down to the grass or gravel continue to do so.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.
