The weather here has been awful. Too warm to get much snow blowing done, and too wet and sloppy to do anything outdoors.
So, over the break when my Dad was here to help, I put in some upgrades on the tractor.
I installed a forward and rear facing camera system (one recommended in another thread). We had to tear out the entire ceiling, side bars, and fender covers in the cab to run the wires but it came together nicely.
One camera was permanently mounted on the rear of the cab. The front one is on a magnetic base to allow moving around; currently on the pallet forks.
While we had the inside apart we put in a stereo and new 5 1/4" speakers from autozone. They were $30 and sound great (it is a tractor, after all). It took some small mods to fit them in (cutting the hole slightly larger) and placing some washers between the speaker and cover to ensure a snug fit.
We also installed a cutting edge for my snowblower that I designed, and then paid some college kids to weld up, as I was sick of spitting gravel. I tried just shortening the top link to control the cutting angle but there is a support plate under the snowblower that drags if it isn't level. I purposefully undersized the plate so the edges of pushed snow would get ingested into the blower. Drilling all of the 3/8" holes through 3/4" steel with a hand drill was ... "fun". I've only gotten to use it once, but it worked great.
Finally, we installed an EA toothbar on the bucket.
