Good morning!!!!

30 going to 63 this afternoon, with rain coming through later. Now to lug the last of the boxes downstairs and continue to neaten the office area.

Realtors coming over this afternoon, not good timing with rain but most of what I wanted to go over with them
is inside. Need referrals for an interior painter and a tile guy to replace a broken floor tile in kitchen. Have no idea how it got broken either, clearly from
something heavy getting dropped there. Plus my repair job on the missing kitchen flour grout needs to be redone. I have four shades of grout stored in the garage, all very close to each other. I have now put the wrong color down twice in a row. Changes color after drying slightly and I keep guessing the wrong one. Time to get someone more talented than I to fix this.

Phil, hope you feel better soon.

Doc also says the gout issue could be causing the other problems. Phew, hopefully will clear up soon. Glad it sounds like everyone else is on the mend!

That can ruin any days plans...hope you shake it soon.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 29ー with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 41ー with mostly cloudy skies. Got I all I planned to get done yesterday. Not sure what will get done today. I ordered a double piloted check valve kit for top link cylinder. They do not make a kit short enough for my cylinder. Have to shorten by about 1". Not a big thing. But I have not done much in shop in months. Took me 18 years to decide to add check valve. If it works out good may add it to side cylinder.
Caught a picture of a woodpecker taking off with some suet.

Phil, hope you get better soon. Are you drinking lots of cherry juice?

Randy, I need some seat time. May get some playing with top link.

Looking, they changed forecast here for Friday and Saturday from snow to rain. Maybe 3". With high temperatures in 50's. 3" of rain instead of 3' of snow may be a good thing.

Thomas, checked out trail cam yesterday. 6k of pictures. Nothing but deer and sand hill cranes. I need to check it more often.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

31 and stars, going to 53.

Jay, wish you were closer so I could share my woodstove ashes with your driveway. I carry out the ash tray from the bottom of the woodstove each morning before adding firewood, and have built up quite a volcano of ashes in my firepit. I'll soon need to shovel them into my FEL bucket and spread on a food plot that has the most clay on our property.

We took our Christmas tree down yesterday. Kinda late, but we so hate to see it go. I got tired of dropping needles throughout the house on the way to the door, so developed a new removal method last year. Place a small tarp next to it, and lop off the branches and stack them neatly...we pick up the tarp by the corners and carry outside, then I drag it to a brush pile. Then the trunk is light, pick straight up and take out, and no mess. (I've heard there are artificial trees that sort of work the same way :) ).

May bring my generator out of the shed today and give it a short run...make sure the battery is strong, and no mice damage, since it sits near where I caught the 11 mice last month. I used to keep a cover on it, but the mice liked to slip under it and build a nest on top. A tiny bit of snow is forecast tomorrow, so not too early to get prepared for a storm later this month.

I need to read up on fireplace ashes. Seems I remember that they are not great for composting piles....

Check your small engines for mice nests. I've seen a lot of them burned up from nests clogging the airflow. It's hard to sometimes peer behind the fan shroud/cover.

I've got a really nice one, never used. 5 years old. I'll get you a pic if you want.

Isn't is amazing how fast a piece of exercise equipment turns into a clothes hanging device.

Morning everyone! 33 going to around 35 today. Should be a nice winters day.
Lots going on medically lately. I never had to take meds before and am now on 6 or more a day. Rheumatoid doc doesn’t like what he sees on my foot issue and the hand doc says I have 3 other issues going on besides the gout.
Doc also says the gout issue could be causing the other problems. Phew, hopefully will clear up soon. Glad it sounds like everyone else is on the mend!

Hope everyone stays safe and healthy

Phil, Hope you get better soon. Hope you find the right meds for you. It doesn't sound like fun, and I'm figuring you are being low key about it on top of it.

RNG, I sometimes make some polycarbonate shields for projects at work. If strain is a potential, you can add some thinwall steel bushings to your design to take up the excess space and provide strain relief to the hole.

BEF, can't believe the SS won't allow for your disability. Does the disability have to last the whole year? argh!

Time to drop the kids off at school on the way to work.

I have some old papers to burn too.

ron; an excellent shot of the woodpecker.
3" of rain would cause all kinds of flooding around here. Better 3"+/- snow.

Good Morning!!!! 40F @ 4:30AM. Partly cloudy skies. High 59F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Spent most of yesterday updating the site plans for the solar power system, adding the details of a leach field from a sketch made by the backhoe operator that installed them back in '06. A gal in the Environmental Health Department is wringing her hands that the trench for the electrical lines my hit either the leach field or the propane line. There's zero chance for problems with the propane line because I have photos of that open trench and the two ends of the pipe are visible above ground so the in between can be easily marked. But the operator's sketch is missing quite a few dimensions. It's been suggested I start digging to try to more accurately locate the leach lines; I'm pretty sure digging to locate the lines will result in damaging them. I talked to my neighbor that will run the trencher, and he thinks if we go slow we'll see gravel in the spoil before we cut anything important, so that's what I'm going to propose. And even if we do hit a leach line, it'll be out at the very end of it, and of little consequence.:confused2:

Had a nice conversation with a gal at the motorcycle windshield place. The bottom line is they've been making their shield for thirty years with no warranty issues, so I'll have one here next week.

And I ran another banker's box full of old bank and investment company papers through the campfire ring yesterday evening, and have quite a bit of room now in the file drawers. Still more to go, though.

I verified that the new GoPro camera is draining its battery by at least half overnight yesterday, but found I was a few days outside the 30 day return period for Newegg, the place that sold it to me. Got a chat session going with GoPro, and in a few minutes had a prepaid shipping label emailed to me to return the camera for a replacement, which I was told would be new. That's a nice upgrade, since the camera I'm sending them was supposedly refurbished. Now all I have to do is hunt up a box.

Town run today for groceries and supplies, and maybe lunch with my bodyshop neighbor.

Rich, good luck to the young racer's season.

I have to admit, when I went to the Texas Speedway round 2 years ago, I was amazed at how quickly the track got rough. I didn't particularly care for the venue because they use the stock car 1/2 mile dirt track, which has banked corners (part I didn't like). It was a 1 line race. I like FLAT tracks.

I was lucky enough to go see the Astrodome shorttrack and steeplechase races back in the '70's. I remember Kevin Schwantz winning the short track once. My favorite steeplechase rider was Steve Eklund R.I.P. Zannotti sponsored him back then. He was so smooth. Great memories.

What is causing the need for the check valve Ron?

Position of cylinder rod will change after setting to proper length. Check valve should lock it in place. I only use top and tilt cylinders with rear blade and landscape rake. Want to use top link with more attachments.
