I didn't pick the best place to pull over, but it was the best I could find on such short notice. The new windshield is made by a company called Parabellum, and they've done wind tunnel testing to ensure they'll stand up to the wind loads. And I think they replace most of the BMW mounting hardware with their own. I'll know more tomorrow after a friendly chat with them on the phone.

Glad your encounter had a safe ending. I usually carry when I'm away from home, but this time decided it was more hassle than it was worth. Boy was I wrong. For all I knew, that nut job in the next room was about to send a bullet through the wall at any minute, and all I had was a pocket knife. Never again...

As you probably know, be sure to torque the new windshield screws a little at a time to let it position itself properly.

Thanks Lou, I give it a try tomorrow.

Don, you may have to pull out the pin (that is getting greased) to see the culprit. A grease gun puts out tremendous pressure, I would suspect a faulty zerk or something strong clogging the passageway.

Didn't get much done today.

Work tomorrow. (I worked last Th and Fri). Still busy at work.

Rich, hope you can keep it cool until then. What is your hotshoe riding this year? Hope for a good race.

J- I always wondered how a parked vehicle can decide to just start sliding (if was parked before the ice storm). But maybe enough water gets under the tires and freezes, lifting the tires off the pavement???

Good morning,
19°F and going up to 30. Wind ESE 14 mph. Snow. A couple of inches overnight and a couple of more today.

I haven't turned the tractor block heater on yet, but I will, eventually. Plowing IS on the agenda for today.

Have a good day all

32 degrees going for a sunny 61 today. I've got an hour or so of physical therapy at 7:30 a.m.; been going twice each week and will be glad when it's over. I'd much rather do the same exercises here at home.

Good morning, 35 now, maybe 42 later and sunny. One 田old day this week then warming back up with rain.

Supposed to be near 80 Saturday in Callahan FL......

Kyle, we have settled on Yamaha YZ450. They make decent power, definitely more reliable than the Honda, and actually handle really well. Strange thing is, the reputation is they are difficult to get to handle. And they are difficult to get them to handle. But once you find the sweet spot, they handle extremely well. Outside of the sweet spot, they are a handful. We have LOTS of notes.

RNG....what brand of shield broke?

Got to make a short road trip today to visit a dealer. Pretty certain it will take longer to start my laptop than fix the problem with the machine. And likely a 10mA setting change to fix it. Processor controlled hydraulics are amazing what they are capable of, but sometimes, people try to get to precise with settings. It doesn稚 need to be that precise.

Everyone have a safe and good day

31 and stars, going to 53.

Jay, wish you were closer so I could share my woodstove ashes with your driveway. I carry out the ash tray from the bottom of the woodstove each morning before adding firewood, and have built up quite a volcano of ashes in my firepit. I'll soon need to shovel them into my FEL bucket and spread on a food plot that has the most clay on our property.

We took our Christmas tree down yesterday. Kinda late, but we so hate to see it go. I got tired of dropping needles throughout the house on the way to the door, so developed a new removal method last year. Place a small tarp next to it, and lop off the branches and stack them neatly...we pick up the tarp by the corners and carry outside, then I drag it to a brush pile. Then the trunk is light, pick straight up and take out, and no mess. (I've heard there are artificial trees that sort of work the same way :) ).

May bring my generator out of the shed today and give it a short run...make sure the battery is strong, and no mice damage, since it sits near where I caught the 11 mice last month. I used to keep a cover on it, but the mice liked to slip under it and build a nest on top. A tiny bit of snow is forecast tomorrow, so not too early to get prepared for a storm later this month.

Good morning all.
35 and heading up to 60 in sunny weather.
Have my third and last ear shot this afternoon, an hour away, so that means inside chores til I leave. Have six full heavy boxes to carry downstairs, going on burn pile and a lot more to go. Steady wins the race.

Rich, the blurb on your bike said it brought 4 cycle motors to dirt bike racing vs previous two cycle. Like my 250 cc Bultaco that I drove all over the farm 50 years ago. They also say you can get a smart phone app so that you can power tune your motor while racing. Talk about multitasking... Have fun and be safe.
Since electric car racing is now serious business, I wonder when there's a motorcycle class for EV. So much weight to batteries I would think power to weight ratio would doom electrics, but depends upon length of race.

Good morning all.

My wife packed away the last of the Christmas decorations yesterday while I dismembered the Christmas tree, which as wng says, makes for an easy trip through the doors, but still seems a little disrespectful. The homemade tree stand worked well, first time in long while that our tree didn't do a leaning tower of pisa impression.

The wind is rising and according to the experts, will soon be bringing a band of wet stuff this way. Catching up on paperwork looks to be my destiny for the rest of today.
