Good morning!!!!

Mostly, not complaining about leftovers, it gets better each time.

Interesting ride to work.
Had to detour, another cement hauler crashed a couple miles down from the house.
Then as I went over the ridge on the interstate my windshield kept fogging up very fast. Looked at thermometer and it was just climbing fast. Temperature rose from 42° to 58° in less than a mile.
Then it got really foggy out but a light drizzle, and cars driving with no headlights on. One passed me that I couldn’t see until it was on me, so I pulled behind and flashed my brights. I then passed it, but she never got the message.
Overall, traffic was light.

Ate a baggie of those cookies on the way in. Lol

I think this area has to be in the running for most accidents. Every day there are multiple. At least 2 overturned. The racing mentality on the interstate is out of control, people just zipping in and out barely missing your vehicle, if you’re lucky.

I致e been taking Flomax for about six months, not sure if it痴 affected my dizziness as I have vertigo anyway, the biggest difference I致e seen is stronger stream with less residual in the bladder. I still get up once a night.

I take mine at night after supper and no more dizziness!!

Back home. Foggy drive. Brought back enough food for at least 2 more meals. I don稚 think I mentioned white cake and red velvet cake. And the cookies. Here are some of her cookies.

those look great. Hope you get them all taken care of before the New Years... :)

I take Terazosin (smallest dose 5mg), given to me for BPH. It is an alpha blocker too, but it covers a wider array. Flomax is more targeted to just BPH. I tried to wean off of it and switch to Flomax and my BP went sky high. so back to Terazosin. When I was put on it, my BP was decent 135/82 ish. When I tried to wean myself, my BP skyrocketed and anxiety made it worse. I want to say it went up to 170/92 or so. So, it's one of those things you definitely don't leave town without a supply.

65 and showers, feels like spring this morning, high around 70. All my company is home, my in laws are mostly well, Mom is doing good, all in all not too bad.
I知 feeling really well over the last 4-5 days, I guess the repair is kicking in. Got a pork roast with bite size potatoes and carrots in the slow cooker. I致e been watching my food intake and I致e lost about 10 lbs, I知 sure that helps.
Have a good day all, prayers.

Good to hear things are not too bad in the Randy camp.

Drew, where will the tile drain to? Is this from the back swampy pond to the ditch? Those "huge Cypress trees" might have some value.

My buddy invited me and my 9 year old down to the gulf coast Saturday to go fishing. This was in land fishing. Actually on a tributary of Matagorda bay. We didn't arrive until 2:30 to his house, but he still had some boat maintenance to finish, so we didn't leave until around 3:30...Got to the fishing hole around 4:30 and caught maybe 10 small fish (non-keepers) but still had fun. Good lesson to teach son patience. He did well. So this boat is rigged up with a small air motor also and lights on the front for flounder gigging. Buddy says "we might as well try a little floundering we are here". As the sun went down we stowed the fishing poles and fired up the air motor. We ended up getting 5 nice 14-15" flounder. My son gigged his first flounder. Some of the best eating fish IMO. He offered me some, but he's sank a boat load of money into this boat and I told him you enjoy them. "We'll come back and try for more soon." Anyhow, really good experience for the son.

Short history lesson. The Frenchman LaSalle missed the Mississippi and went into Matagorda Bay. They constructed Fort St. Louis out of timbers to try to protect themselves from the cannibalistic Karankawa indians. Didn't turn out so well.

What happened at Fort St Louis?
Fort St. Louis. Fort St. Louis was founded by the French explorer Ren Robert Cavelier Sieur de La Salle in 1685. ... Twenty remaining colonists at Fort St. Louis survived until late 1688 or early 1689 when the Karankawa attacked and killed all but a few children who they took captive.

When we got down there to the water, the wind was sustained at 35+mph with higher gusts, but the creek we were on has protective bluffs. I watched the very most southern tips of the storm clouds go by, knowing the trouble they are going to cause for up north for you guys. The higher the winds down here, the more turmoil up northeast. After the front passed, the winds died down really low.

Off today, and until Jan 2nd. Need to catch up on some chores. 35F going to 59F . I have a spare pair of oxyacetylene bottles, that an older lady gave me when her husband passed away. I'm going to sell them, but the hoses were rotten, and the big Victor regulator gages are acting up. So, it's just the bottles. Trying to figure out what they are worth?

Nice pictures. Ron, I have a pic of Don standing on his bridge, just shortly before he sold his place. We had a nice golf cart ride around his place that day. Whipper was keeping us safe from everything dangerous, running ahead of us. That dog has some uncanny back country/woods "street smarts".

Jay, sorry about your dogwood. I did not know that icing would kill them, if I'm understanding you right.

Dabs, like Eric said, I sure would have been tempted to give step son the empty box from the new one, all wrapped up nice. :)

Have a blessed day all.

Icing has killed some of my redbuds. The weight of the ice uprooted / broke one. Current one still alive but has a bad crack in it.

We brought back 1 ice cream pail of assorted cookies from her stash.

My FIL is doing very well from his heart valve surgery. As well as she cooks, he is as slender as a rail. I guess when you’re a Lincoln that happens. Lol

Good morning to all! Low of 8 degrees, but at least it is sunny! High today will only be 35, gradual warming throughout the week.

All the family members have now returned to their respective areas of the country. We both slept in this morning until 06:30....

Mostly, things seem to be back to “ normal “.... a relief. Not too many things left to clean up / return to storage. Dogs are still passed out after all the excitement over the new people they met. They did get way too many treats....

Drew, that project sounds like a big improvement to the property. Will add some value to the property for resale.

Kyle, it sounds like a great time with your son! I hope you will get more time to do it again. To maybe answer your question of price for the acetylene bottles, my son purchased a full working setup (gauges and hoses were good) for $175. The bottles were full also. Just the bottles would be worth $50-75....just a guess.

Jay, hope you do not get too much ice. That sure does make a lot of problems/ damage. Stay warm... watch out for faulty crampons...

Paul, I am also “ cookied out “. They were very good, but, even after giving every guest a take out bag of cookies, there are still way too many to eat. We are going to try and freeze some of them.

Thomas, glad you got the e-muffins restocked! Hope it was not too traumatic :D

I am going to do absolutely nothing today and conserve some energy. Wifey is going to go to the grocery with the son, both households have to restock.

Everyone have a great start to the week! Prayers sent.

Solar installer due out today to change out some connections on the shunts. Hopefully get better measurements. Other than that extremely pleased with the new system.
Last Happy Hour of 2019 this afternoon. Smallish group with several members still on mainland for the holidays.
Should venture down to the PO Box.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

PJ,
if you cannot find a home for the fudge, I can take it off your hands for you. You would just have to put Xmas gift on the customs declaration.:D

check;
the only time I am on the 400 series highways is in the big truck. I stay off the Don Valley Parkway too.

The racing mentality on the interstate is out of control, people just zipping in and out barely missing your vehicle, if you’re lucky.

A common reply from me with people who think they can "handle it" is "Your car is not a race car, and you are not a race car driver". I think this must be popular pretty much everywhere. People recently have become a lot more aggressive in their driving, and, frankly, just inconsiderate of the safety of others. It's a major pet peeve of mine, so I'll try not to be too preachy.

Interesting day, reading of all the flomax users.
I know some recently had surgery for the prostate.
My doctors didn't want that route because of my COPD and Afib plus my weight,
so I just had my 10th radiation treatment out of 39 this morning.
What should be a 45 minute trip took over and 1 1/4 hours,
the roads were fine but got behind lines of traffic behind State salter trucks running 25 mph.
Did a bunch of puttering around and keeping an eye on the freezing line on the mountain.

Here's wishing everyone in the storms path decent weather and no power outages,
my tractor got hooked up to the generator yesterday afternoon because of the forecast.

To all stay safe and healthy.

Need to pick some up next time I am at Sam’s Club.

We get ours at Costco. 6 pack I think and we just put in freezer to use as wanted. It’s the nooks and crannies...
