That really sucks.

I agree with others who suggest that parts are likely still available and a "good" mechanic should be able to get you running again.

BTW, one reason I got an LS was that LS makes the same engine for the New Holland line. Down the road, I should be able to get parts even if my dealer goes belly up. Hope that never happens as I have an excellent dealer.

Wishing you luck.

To me, it's an age where buying companies and market share is more important than the products themselves. Did Bobcat really need a tractor line? I mean, for years they even poo-pooed them in favour of a skid loader.

Boy am I glad I have Kubota's 2002 and 2004 M9's and every part is available from the dealer and aftermarket parts abound too.

I saw a video of a guy working on a ten year old JD Mini-Ex that parts were "apparently" no longer available for.

I have a question.
How does it work with a new replacement engine on a pre tier IV tractor.
I'm assuming any new (new, not rebuilt) replacement engine must be tier IV compliant ?

Availability of new complete prior engines varies widely. Generally speaking if a new complete Tier III or older engine is available the replaced engine must be returned or verification that it has been rendered unrepairable is required. Usually they replaced engine serial number is documented when the new engine is ordered.

Pray tell: Why is the cylinder dead ? Stuck valve, broken rod, cracked rings, missing piston, block defect ? A biopsy would help this discussion. Everything is fixable IMHO. Heck, buy another one, swap motors, return the 'new' one because the motor is bad with less than 5 hours on it. Full refund please. Then tell us how wonderful your 10 year old hybrid is running !
