TESLA Electric Truck?

Well it looks like a done deal...

California will require Electric Trucks and said the current 600k cost compared to a 125k diesel rig will come down as production ramps up...

Mandates/Requirements are the only way for California to meet Gov Browns law for California to be Carbon NEGATIVE by 2045.

California already has 600,000 electric vehicles and needs to have 5 million in 10 years by 2030.

To do this the State has advertised on Spanish Language media offering Grants of $9,500 for a family of 4 making just under 60k to buy electrics... with grants already taken...

In addition, Low Income drivers can get $2000 to install home charging stations... plus additional rebate from Bankrupt PGE and EV rates...

Retiring a gas vehicle can net another $1000... one of the reports showcases getting a 96 Camry off the streets and another a 2003 Mercedes...

Ford C-Max is one popular vehicle in the program.

Back to trucks... as the highways and bridges crossing the SF Bay are made open to bicycles and pedestrians complaints of Diesel emissions increased... joggers say it is no fun going across the bridge inhaling Diesel particulates...

The Golden Gate has had pedestrian access forever without complaints... could be the location with always a breeze mitigates exhaust... plus... not a lot of big rigs use the Golden Gate Bridge.

The times are a changing and the belief is California will once again set the standard for the Nation...

It like the farmer that was not allowed to sell raw milk to the Montessori school... being a simple man he suggested the school buy the cow and he would charge for caring and milking the school milk cow... he was no longer selling milk!

Yummy raw milk taste pretty good. Used to have goats too and that was pretty tasty as well, unless they got into the willows, then, not so much, but the pigs didn't care.

Oh ya, TESLA Truck thread, i'd be tempted if i need such a rig.

A fairly close neighbor, Michael Schmidt has been through the ringer, trying to fight for his right to sell raw milk. Formed a cooperative where several people could buy the cow but the Government wasn't going for that. Not sure if it's protection for the Milk Marketing board or legitimate health concerns.

Mom's side for generations family diary farm and raw milk was one thing they had in abundance... and it was always raw.

Being a city kid it never set well with me... so Grandma boiled it and made hot coco special for me... still had to skim off the surface... I would get sick each visit and then be fine... but when it was boiled or cooked on the stove no problem.

As long as the powers that be push for Carbon Negative which goes farther than Carbon Neutral... expect to see lots of subsidies and tax breaks poured into EV...

I can see a day where someone driving a ICE vehicle could very well be the oddity in a place like the SF Bay Area... I think London already highly restricts certain ICE vehicles... kind of like single occupant carpool lane use here... it is the perks that push it...

We sure hope not. California can't afford their lifestyle any longer and neither can the Nation.

History shows otherwise... what starts in California seldom stays here.

There was a time when Oregon and Washington were very different politically but the 3 west coast states are very much in step...

Grandma's raw milk sounds like Dad's apple juice. He built an apple press and was so proud to deliver apple juice to family and friends along with the pickup load of apples he always arrived with during harvest season. The juice was tasty.

But ... the apple juiice was unpasteurized and had an overwhelming medicinal effect that lasted a couple of days. Nobody wanted a second batch.

When I took over the orchard in Y2K and started digging through endless hoarded things in the barns I never found his press. He must have given it away.

Maybe California ought to become their own country, Spanish as their language. They're very much "different" from the rest of the country, especially SF, LA.
Rewarding low income people sounds like socialism to me.
