What did you do on or to your LS Tractor today?

Loaded 21 batteries, 280 lbs each onto trailer with my pallet forks.

Most recently we have used our LS to build a set of composting stalls trying to get a little more ready for next year and have a better place to keep the stuff that can be composted! The boys are glad the tractor was doing the heavy stuff!

Today I had to palletize my 24kw diesel generator for shipment to Maui
I had it on dollies and had to get out of tractorshed. The backhoe prove handy


Then I had to get it transferred from dollies to the pallet. Forks to the rescue.


Got it in place


Bolted down, ready for truck to pick up in morning

The big gen is loaded and gone. LS was maxed out.

Took a coordinated effort between tractor and lift gate.

Driver was initially surprised what he was picking up, but impressed with the LS.

I figure the palletized generator was likely about 2300lbs.

Size is primarily due to 2 factors.
1. the sound attenuating enclosure.
2. The 100 gal diesel tank. When I bought this I was still using 5 gal containers. Soon upgraded to the 125 gal storage which meant I’d get delivery for both, usually around 150+. Had already decided I’d replace this one when I went to 500 storage.

Hopefully, my Dealer will show up with my new 48" Pallet Forks and to do a computer update (something about RPM and the Turbo).

Has anybody ever looked into having a locksmith rekey the ignition to something non standard?

Has anybody ever looked into having a locksmith rekey the ignition to something non standard?

Probably cheaper to change the ignition. I’ve thought about breaking the bottom 1/4 off the key and sticking the broken piece in the bottom of the cylinder but I’m not sure if that would work or not.

I thought about that, but I'm not sure of the wiring and I'm still under warranty. I was thinking of getting a second OEM switch and keys so I could swap back to the factory if I needed to for some reason.

Today I got a chance to play with the blue lady in the snow... Plowed 1/4 mile of the access road, then cleared out the driveway. We got over a foot of snow. Didn't remember to get a pic from the seat, but there she is "drying off" before I put her away. We're supposed to get some more snow again tomorrow night, so I will probably get some more wintertime fun in again!
