you can push the plunger at the same time. best of all makes a dandy exercise load for one of your generators.
I was once at a guy that deals in generators. He had a truck body he bought from the Government that was a load bank for testing Hospital Generators. Funniest thing I ever saw. It ws jam packed with toasters!
I am using a toaster that my Mother got when she opened a savings account. Solid metal, cloth covered cord and built like a tank. I think the account was opened about 60 years ago. I don't care because it still does the toast.
Well here's my take on toasters - I have gone through several new toasters in the last several years with not one working to my satisfaction. In sizing up the purchase, I look at the wattage first because this tells me the heat output of each unit. However, their rating system must lie, as when I get the toaster of my choice home and with great anticipation I, with mouth watering and butter ready I press the lever down, put the selector on it's darkest setting and watch the heating coils turn red. When the toaster pops, once again I am disappointed as the darn thing just barely puts a brown color on the bread, a tan would be an exaggeration. The outlet has 122 volts feeding it so the house voltage and current is healthy but still the toaster lever has to be held down so I can get a decent slice!! Geeze!! Bob
Our families first toaster had a fabric two cond. cord, with the black bakelite frying pan style socket. Heating elements in the middle and two flap like doors you put the toast in on each side and close it. Nothing automatic. Probably another thing my Dad picked out of the scrap conveyor destined for the blast furnace.
