We got a sneak peak at the new LS Tractor Prototype Skid Steer at the 2019 Sunbelt Ag Show. This thing looks awesome.

Impressive looking

Good call on the mirrors, only machine that comes with blinders !

That's exciting!

Agree. Looks to be well thought out. All wires and hoses tucked in and armored.

Even appears to have a rear facing camera.

LS will need to step up their game if they are to complete in the construction segment though! Cat, Bobcat, etc, have an extensive mature dealer network that has yet to materialize (at least in my area) for LS.

Makes me wonder if they are planning to build for other vendors, similar to their tractors. Like you say, already a fairly saturated market. Around Detroit area, Kubota has really taken off with tracked SS machines... It's probably Cat, Bobcat, Kubota (in that order) followed by everyone else.

First thing that I look at on any tracked machine is the height of the front drive or idler.
Most of them are too small get in deep mud and they have a hard time climbing up on it and tend to try and push thru it.
Or just working in soft plowed ground, the wheeled skidsteers will run easier then the tracked at that time, even with the tracked units getting more traction.
Especially when carrying heavy loads, full buckets of rock or heavy brush cutters.
I have seen a Cat with aftermarket tracks mounted over the tires do things a straight tracked one couldn't because of the added front height allowed it to climb up over instead of having to try and push thru.

Looks like it could use a hoop to run the hydrolic lines through when hooking up a front implement. Otherwise the lines will likely get ripped off. ... and the undercarriage looks familiar.. .. my kid has a rigid undercarriage like that does...after operating one with the ASV setup .....makes me want one of those.

Even the wifey said "nice"...... Then said "NO, we are NOT getting one".... Oh well....

If you came here for thoughts on the the machine the door is junk, the bucket is junk, the mirrors and lights wouldn’t last a day in the woods and the hoses across the back of the boom aren’t great either.

Agree with all above. Hose routing over the back of the boom especially. A few hours running my brush cutter in the thick stuff and these lines would likely be toast. Seeing the engeneering on this makes me think whoever designed it has not spent time in the seat of one. An easy pass from me just from the few pics.

Visibility out the back looks horrible as well. One thing I really like about the case tr340 I own. Visibilty is excellent out the back. No rear view camera needed.

I’d like to look over the thing in person to see what else they screwed up. Agreed with the observation that whoever built it probably hasn’t used one. Also agree that the rear visibility is awful. The side viability looks awful too. The rear hatch and bumper isn’t very beefy either. Also agree that I wouldn’t buy one. Epic fail of a skid loader IMO. I foresee a short LS CTL future or drastic changes one.

LOL you guys are brutal... unfairly. Let's wait until (and if) it actually gets released, give it a fair test in person, and then decide.

LS has been making good tractors and, by all accounts, make an effort to adapt to customer needs and wants.

I've operated track machines from most manufacturers and NONE of them are perfect, and I can easily nitpick negatives from every machine out there. Let's give this one a chance before we condemn it.

So coming from another skid steer user was I wrong on any of the points?
