Perfect weather day. Sitting on front porch enjoying the day.

Helicopter noises outside, and when I look, it was right across the canyon, following power lines. Pulled up FilghtTrader24, and see it came out of Oroville, through Cherokee, and then up Pentz Road, on the other side of the canyon, the Paradise side.

Pulled up the PG&E outage map, and find that the zone he's searching is not the zone I'm in. Oh well. At least they're airborne, and, woops, wait a minute, it just went over the house, following the line that provides power here!:cool2: Turns out it was at the north end of the zone across the canyon, and apparently finished it before it made a bee line down to the feeder that jumps across the canyon. If the last time is any kind of guide, the power will be back on in a few hours.:crossfingers:.

This is strange. The Temp is continuing to drop. It's dropped another 5˚F we are now at 44˚F.

Yep, Don, I posted my temperature as 45 this morning, then it went on down to 42. The rain didn't last long, but about 3/4" this morning and about a tenth of an inch yesterday is certainly appreciated. And now, clear skies and 60 degrees.

At 8am no sign mason nor call so I grab back pack blower stop at noon for quick lunch and finish up at 3pm still no call.
I am done for the day think I'll just numb it.

Pretty certain that the Outback Flexpower packages (either Radian or FXR) treat the gird feed just like a generator. Just flip the grid switch off to disconnect

Back from town. Time to tackle the backhoe.
One of my 1st efforts will be to reposition from shipping frame to dolly or pallet to get close enough to hookup PTO for hydraulics. Just not certain I can get forks positioned close enough for the lift. May have to move bh so I can approach from the other side.

And thanks for all the suggestions.

Better get a move on, just got a text we are having visitors after lunch.

Thanks, David. The local installation outfit I talked with Wednesday got back to me this morning, and they use Outback hardware. Outback has been around forever, and I trust them to be around for a long time to come. The outfit that wanted to sell me the DIY kit isn't responding to phone/email inquiries anymore, so it looks like I may have dodged a bullet there, even if whatever I wind up with costs more. The system is complicated, and I'm not going to have my whits about me forever, and more and more I'm realizing how important it is to have local expertise that is familiar with the installation...

mowed lawn and orchards for three hours on a very pretty day, but very dusty.
Then soaked in hot tub which felt great.
eyes are drooping already, not going to be up late tonight.
