To me it be groveling to the CFO for the extra 5k. But if that ain't an option, only other healthy choice is to embrace what you got and build a life with it. Screw regret, it's a toxic state of mind.

As I keep saying, I like the tractor a lot. I put 160 hours on it in the first 8 months. The lack of HP is more an issue of me mashing the HST pedal to make it go uphill faster :duh: Hopefully I won't have a lot of warranty issues and can rely more on Michigan Iron and Equipment and my own elbow grease instead of the dealer.

Are your rpm's high enough when going uphill? I gotta crank mine up when going uphill, that's fairly standard with a hst.

Wow, where to start...
Agree with everybody that the Dealer made the difference with my Kubota purchase.
John.D, treated me like they were doing me a favor by just talking to me, when they found out I was not a 10000 acre farmer with a huge budget and all I wanted was a lowly Sub Compact, suddenly they were busy.
I left.:smiley_aafz:

Next, New.H, same.
I left:grumpy:

Mah, "make up your mind and come find me"
I left.:mur:

No Kioti dealer.

Kubota was the only dealer that bothered to TALK to me, ask me questions like, what are you going to with your tractor etc.
Bought from them, they are NOT perfect but better than the rest in my area.:cloud9::tractor:

So to the question, what would I do differently?
install, a belly pan, spacers & a canopy right away , not a year later.
Also do a little more research before I buy a PTO attachment.

Good question!

Fortunate to live near Dallas so multiple Kubota and a few Kioti dealers all within 60 miles. I went Kioti due to price with extra features over Kubota and the two pedal HST. My dealer warned me about FEL grease, FEL bolt torques, and wheel torques. About the only thing I would do over is go with a 6 ft shredder (I went with 5 ft. Although I bog down a little in high grass even at 5 ft, having 14 open acres I would have liked the extra width.

Now that it is under control I am looking at a flail to do a better job of mulching it up...

What I would NOT change: I did lurk here for most of a year before I joined since I had never driven a tractor before. Tons of good tips and info
