BEF, hanging?

Ding ding ding
We have a winner.

I stood with my walker right in front of it while trying to program my other doors remote for this door. So last week I bought another remote for this door and stood here again to program it. Not to mention the number of times I opened the door using the wall button.

then to Verizon to get them to bump up my gigs on Mifi,
it ran out this weekend

Buckeye, restaurant looks very nice, not easy parking there though. Octoberfest is the prior weekend.

Restaurant is very good, but Parking not too good downtown. I think last time we parked in a garage, as we couldn’t find street parking. The owner is from Bavaria.

With the RV you are better at the PA Dutch market. It has a big open lot.

I log into my Verizon account and change my limit. At least I used to, now they say they no longer offer my plan, so I can keep it but no longer can change it. I’m at 18 gig I think. I don’t use the mifi any more, just use phone as a hotspot. Saves having another device fee every month.

First cup if coffee, 56°F, maybe getting close to 70° today.

The leaves are near their peak, but I don’t think quite there yet.

Time to take the boat out, I am afraid.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

41ºF with mostly mixed level clouds for today’s low temperature; a cloudy 49ºF presently; and I anticipate a partial clearing this afternoon with the high temperature in the mid 60ºF’s. It looks like a slight warming pattern early midweek, but generally seasonal temperatures with a chance for rain showers all week with frontal zone activities. We need the rain. I still hope to get in some kayaking and some pics this week. I finished the antibiotics and started tapering my Prednisone today. Blood, O2, and cardiac functions look decent (for me) this AM; hardly any huffing & puffing walking Brogen this morning. I do not think it would have been as pretty w/o the meds. Plan for today = try to manage my energy appropriately, make my PCP appointment on time, and hauling my air compressor upstairs from the basement.

Coffee going down too quickly; oh well. There were three spiders in the downstairs tub yesterday. 2 daddy long legs and 1 funnel weaving spider. Later there was one. It did not go well for the DLL’s.

I never have had posts “pruned” by TBN before until that crazy politicized post started the other night. At least I was only “partially” pruned. I guess some posters there got their manties in a bunch about “ego and testosterone driven behaviors.” It was only a generalized statement not directed at anyone. If someone wants to own my BS that’s their challenge; not mine. I own my own scat.

Thomas- Retirement is just a few days away and then you can start the process of extinguishing some old motor habits and developing new ones that are more home based. Good luck. I do not not know when I’ll fire up the propane driven central heating at this point. Autumn is definitely my favorite time of year.

“… Jay sounds like reason is catching up with the Prednisone,”- Bruce Usually I never catch up or want to. I really like that hypomanic/manic feeling. I guess there can be a learning curve with this even for me.

Roy- I am sorry to read about another audit for which you must endure, but sorrier to read about the dental challenges. I hope the dentist can figure out what’s going on and get your pain managed.

“… With the pool and water park, you can get your brain eating amoebas and never leave home!”- Randy  Good luck with the RV/KOA challenges. It’s getting to the point that any body of “warm” water larger than one’s own tub is potentially suspect. It is concerning. :(

Check- Thanks for sharing the Fall foliage picture. I do not know if we’ll see any real full color around here this Fall.

I hope everyone has a decent day today, that all those aches & pains fade, and we continue to age as gracefully as possible.

My + thughts, wishes, and prayers.

We had our first good frost Friday morning, then some snow over the weekend, temps stayed in 30s, low 40s.

Stay safe, prayers for those in need.

70°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 92° today. Near the records for today and tomorrow. Hot here through Wednesday, then more seasonable highs in the 60s and 70s after that.

Got the grass mowed Saturday morning, then puttered around with a few small things until it just got too warm outside. Got a small burn pile burned, and should have done that before I mowed. Made a run to the Carlyle Tractor Supply late afternoon to pick up chicken feed, then I was pretty much done for the day.

Wife met the boy at the Chevy dealer in Highland Saturday afternoon to help him negotiate a deal for a 2013 Silverado. She got him $1500 trade on the Sorento (which he has nearly killed since she gave it to him), and got the offered interest rate cut in half (from 7% to 3.5%). So, now he finally has a decent vehicle that he's paying for himself. Wife said that the sales lady was surprised when he started signing all the documents, noting that a large percentage of 20-year-olds don't seem to know how to sign anything with a signature these days. They just print their name. Sad.

Sunday morning we ate breakfast, fed the chickens, then finished the dock refurb. That sun was hot already early in the morning, and there was no breeze at all. Miserable. We got the new 2x10 frame supports in place, then finished the top boards, and were done by about 10:00. I cut some 4x4 lumber for her into sections for a couple of other projects, and that pretty much ended the outside stuff for yesterday. Hot again, around 92°. Took a shower, and had a nice 45 minute nap.

A very late good morning from me.

The rain is pouring down outside, yet thanks to an accurate forecast I got a move on first thing and was able to get everything I needed to do outside in 6 hours of calm and dry weather. Included in that time was an unexpected half hour, escorting tree felling contractors for the electricity company. They hadn't brought their chainsaws, just wanted to look at what was involved. I have already taken out the biggest trees so there is not that much left for them to do, but it will save me a few hours so I'm not turning down their offer of free labour.

RNG, if ember proof vents don't work out, how about water cooling ? You could have a swimming pool on top, or maybe with a bit of landscaping, a waterfall cascading onto the roof and down the side walls :)

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 8:30AM. A shower or two possible this morning with partly cloudy skies for the afternoon. High around 65F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
Clouds passing through this morning dropped a couple hundredths of rain to add to the 0.13" that came in last night around sunset. People are still managing to catch things on fire, even with the little bit of rain we've been getting. One of them yesterday was started by a guy on a Cub Cadet mowing dry weeds and grass. Drew, you'll be relieved to learn that the Cub looked like it came through unscathed.

Made a pretty good start on enlarging the terrace for the bigger propane tank yesterday. Dug up and moved about 60 retaining wall blocks, then used the FEL and backhoe to widen that side until the side wall was no longer required. It's not quite level enough yet, so this afternoon if it dries out enough, I'll have another go at it. Probably need to fire up the laser level and make some measurements so I'm not just going by eyeball.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

You win the imagination award for today's posts, Eric. One thing I learned yesterday was that wet lead acid batteries give off hydrogen when they're being charged, so it's important to locate them in a well ventilated area that is free of sparks. The sealed AGM batteries that have been specified for the system here don't seem to have that problem, though, so colocating them with the generator might still be possible. Originally they were going to go in the pump house, and I think the electric motor in there would raise a similar concern. More homework needed.

70°F and .3 inches rain, so far day is looking much like yesterday.

Today is Sophie’s and mine 36th anniversary. Not quite up there with some of you guys and not always peaches and cream, but I sure am blessed.

Town later to HD, brewery, Happy Hour with friends otherwise not sure what the day will yield.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
