The A/C on my 2016 NX will 'flicker' on and off. The problem seems intermittent. Dealer came and looked at it, and it behaved when he was looking at it. Only after he left did it start acting up. High and low side pressure seemed ok. Screens are completely clear of debris. When it works, blows really cold, but sometimes, the compressor turns on and off every few seconds, sometimes it will do this for a full hour, and cab will not cool. Anyone else see anything like this? As well, with A/C on, you cannot turn up the heat and get heat in the cab. In the winter when the windows fog, I like to turn on A/C to defog the windows, but can't keep the heat coming out. Any thoughts?

Can't help with the intermittent on/off thing. Sounds electronic in nature, so replacing the controller may help.

Regarding the windows fogging, I was having the same issue when turning on the AC to defog. Soon as you turned the AC on, all you got was cold air. I did some searching on this forum and deduced there was a kit from Kioti that included a new control module and blend gate. Goes in the top of the cab. The dealer installed it for me under warranty, and I now have better temp control. The part number was TE16-A0083A. The corporate techs knew what it was right away when my dealer called them.

Recommend you have your dealer install the kit above and see if you continue to have the intermittent issues. Replacing it may solve both your problems.

Thanks. I was asking my dealer about that kit. I will have to get one. Thanks for the info. I think the A/C problem might be in the cab. Is like that when the cab starts off really hot. Do you have remotes on your NX. Mine seem to run really hot, near 175 degrees. You have much warmer weather than I do in Canada. So far pretty happy with NX.

Dave---yes, I have two remotes. Not sure about the temp of them though, as I haven't used them yet. Apparently, the previous owner used them to run a hydraulic auger. I've since installed a third function for future use, and removed the hoses that were ran to the front of the tractor.

And yes...it's HOT here in South Texas. I get temps of up to 130+ degrees in our attic on hotter days. Most Summer days, we get between 100-105 degrees ambient. That's when I really, really like the AC in the cab.

Yes, with those outside temps, you would be medium rare in no time without A/C. The NX really puts out some nice cold air..... when it works. Have a good day.

Dave - I'm sure you and the dealer checked the compressor belt for sufficient tension, right? I'm mentioning it just in case. An stretched or glazed belt can slip and mimic intermittent short cycling of the compressor. I had to retension my belt recently when this happened. The AC started cutting in and out during several hours of heavy loader work in 90 F heat. After retensioning, all was well again.

Justman777, what year is your NX? Mine is an early 2014. I've always been able to run the AC simultaneously with the heat to prevent fogging, but I'm still curious about the control module and blend gate kit. I'm wondering if Kioti might have had a problem with a run of 3rd party AC parts.

Threepoint, I have a 2018 model. I'm not sure there was a bad production run, but the kit was called a control assembly "upgrade" by the corporate Kioti tech.

Thanks for the input. Belt seems ok. I plan to get the kit mentioned in this thread as the 2016 NX will not run heat with the A/C on. Will see if a new module will make a difference.

Thanks for the info. Contacted dealer, and the kit is on order and will be installed on warranty. If you use your tractor a lot in winter, you need to be able to turn on A/C with heat to keep windows clear.

Cool! :)

I'm not sure why the kit wasn't installed at the factory. Seems like it'd be a factory default.

Winters are not as harsh in South Korea, but the tractor was assembled in the U.S though. I am also thinking of a 12 volt fan plugged into the outlet in the tractor to help with air flow and fogging. Hope you get your hydraulic issue sorted out soon.

Mine is a 2017 and had to have the kit installed. I had same issue- no heat if you needed to dehumidify in winter.

The kit isn't an add-on, it's a fix. Its a control reroute on the blend and new control panel replacement.

Well, since dealer came and looked at A/C, it hasn't acted up. I think maybe I wasn't keeping the fins clean enough on the condenser. It looked clean, but getting all the crud out from the fins will require a long extension for the air compressor. Have since bought that extension and no problems so far. Waiting for the kit that will allow heat while the A/C is on.

Sounds like progress.

What extension wand did you get?

What extension wand did you get?

Got a 36 inch wand from Canadian Tire. Can reach in behind condenser easily and clear out crud with ease. Was blowing at an angle, and wasn't getting it all. Just need to be careful not to bend the fins. My B7800 obviously didn't have A/C and rad was pretty easy to clear out. Couldn't believe (and was embarrassed) by what came out when dealer was there. Told him it was 'clean'.

Thanks Eric. Got a wand similar to that. Makes a big difference getting in behind to clear out dust and debris.

Got a wand for the same purpose from Northern Tool. Has three holes I think on one side. Allows me to get in between just about everything and blow it out. It always amazes me how much stuff these tractors suck in!

The also have Air Combs available.

For anyone searching this issue, just wanted to weigh in, this is almost always the problem. I've had the "hot air" issue in my NX several times, every single time it was too much crud in the fins. Couldn't see it, but when I blew it out.. Well, lots of crud came out and the AC worked fine again. Seems this tractor is relatively sensitive to crud on the AC coil, more so than expected (for me). Just blow it out first, that's likely the problem and it's an easy fix. The compressor will engage and disengage quickly if your fins are plugged, seems to spin up, start to cool, then shut right back down (probably because it's too hot). Anyway, it's an easy fix, so that's good news (except the last time it happened I was 2 miles from the house/air compressor and it was a solid 98 degrees out, nothing like a cab with no AC to give you a nice case of heat stroke).
