So sad the tragedies yesterday.
Even worse the factions trying to capitalize on them. When will the realize they are just feeding the problem?

For a long time I've believed that the press popularizes mass shootings and inspires others to copycat them, leading to more mayhem. It's too bad our media outlets can't see the harm that glorifying the shooters by repeating their names all over front pages and TV screens nationwide has done.

Good Morning!!!! 72F @ 7:00AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High near 100F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Sounds like BooBoo has found easier pickins elsewhere, Thomas. Did the ammonia do the trick?

Is pilates the one where you step up and down from little platforms? Could be in for some sore muscles if it is, Don.

Since I bought the little Bosch 4 1/2" angle grinder, I hardly ever reach for the monster Makita 7"er, it's just too heavy. The Bosch has the same spindle size, can use all the same attachments, and has plenty of power for sanding, cutting, and grinding. But it probably spins too fast for automotive polishing. Wonder if Bosch makes a variable speed small angle grinder that would be lighter than what you're using now, Hawkeye?

Thanks for the heads up on Randy, Drew. My mom had afib caused by untreated high blood pressure. Her doctor knew about it, but didn't do anything about it. Eventually one lasted long enough that her blood coagulated in her heart, and when it started again, the clots went to her brain, lungs, and kidneys, nearly killing her. She was never the same after that, and suffered for years. Hope Randy's doctors get a handle on it ASAP; afib is nothing to fool around with. Sorry you found your wheel after the mower took a bite out of it.

No ride for me yesterday; the new bracket was rubbing on the underside of the fuel tank, so instead of fixing it, I got in some ladder time while it was still cool and finished painting the big eve. Today I'll get the drip lines up on it, completing another sprinkler circuit and leaving only one left.

Had a brief conversation with my backhoe buddy, who still seemed perturbed by the lack of progress on his welding yesterday. I offered to help him again, but didn't get a call back, so maybe he's giving it a rest. :confused2:

I made a new bracket for the ignition unit and got it mounted, probably in a better spot with better protection. Also found a loose connector in the wiring harness, and tidied up a couple other things, and found a couple other things that also need attention. So I'll putter with that this afternoon.

Here it is Monday already. Hope everyone gets off to a good start this week!

67°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 92° today.

As anticipated, the landscaper was a no-show Friday and Saturday.

Started Saturday morning by finishing the mowing in the bog area between the lake and the road. It was actually dry enough to get the rider in there to high cut it, then took the ZTR back through to cut it to a more proper length. Spent most of the rest of the day carrying the line trimmer around the property. Hadn't done that in too long, and it showed. Nephew even came out and helped around the lake. He's not so good with a trimmer - thinks he can muscle his way through anything - but what he did definitely helped. He wasn't too receptive to my suggestions to use more economy of motion and let the tool do the job, and ended up working harder to constantly free up the head and shaft of twisted weeds. To his credit, though, he stuck it out all day.

Went to Lowe's Sunday morning for some various supplies. Picked up some wood putty and stain to work on the guitar neck, and a couple gallons of paint for The Wife. Got a nice "elephant gray" to paint the new chicken coop when it's built, and a mildly dark red for her picnic table project. She's taking apart the hexagonal table the neighbors across the road gave us last year, and replacing all the slipping nails with screws, then repainting it. Eventually, we'll lay out a small brick patio area for it just off of the deck.

We had a visit yesterday from on one of her stepbrothers, who she hasn't seen since 1980. When her parents divorced, her Mother remarried, and the guy had several children. Gary Jr was closest to her in age, and they always got along well. They'd recent got back in contact a few years ago, and he finally came by to visit. He brought his youngest son with him (in his mid-20s), and he and I had some great conversation, as he's a junior high school music teacher. Nice to finally meet that side of her family.

Hopefully won't have to do that much polishing now that it is done, but some reports on interweb say it is annual thing, sometimes twice a year until you grow tired of it and just get it painted.

72°F and .26 inches rain. Flossie enroute but so far not much a thing for us. Did take advantage of the nice wx yesterday and got a couple hours brushhogging while wife tooled around on her Scag.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good day today. Stood in parallel bars for about a minute, holding myself with arms. Legs slowly improving.
