Looking at the pics that was a very clean machine with very low hours and obviously kept out of the weather.

It is pretty ridiculous for folks to be posting about a price listed on a classified item. If you don't agree just move one it's not you're business.. PERIOD.

PLUS +1

I agree with that but you shouldn’t go starting equipment price threads either if you don’t like the outcome.

I wouldn't point fingers at bad advice, I'd just say that there's a pretty wide range when it comes to the value of used equipment. Not only that, getting in front of buyers is the biggest factor.

If we had a way to instantly connect a seller of a piece of machinery to every single interested buyer, then everybody would get the true market value for their machine. Outside of that, it's a bit of a crap shoot when it comes to what one platform versus another will drum up in terms of bids and buyers. List it on eBay and maybe that week you find a buyer, or maybe on another site you list it for three months and nothing.

FWIW we now have a Tractors & Equipment For Sale group associated with our Facebook page that in time will be linked to our site as it grows in terms of popularity. About 600 members now and counting. There are dozens of for sale groups on Facebook and as you found, some are great. If only they were all unified instead of broken up into many different groups with different levels of quality.

It should be a rule, to stay off a thread if you're not interested in the item.. Courtesy and respect..

I'm referring to the actual classified thread. I don't blame the guy for, this thread, if his for sale thread was junked up with a bunch of garbage talk..

It wasn’t a for sale thread. It was a thread stating it was for sale. It didn’t even have a link to the eBay auction until someone else proved one.

Who started an "equipment price" thread?
I never mentioned anything about pricing in my original post!
My post was essentially: Hey, it is on E-Bay...."check it out!"

To me that implies: Take a look at it....if you wish!
It seemed quite benign to me.

And then the S--T hit the fan!

I wouldn稚 go overboard with patting myself on the back after scamming a newcomer out of his hard earned money.

Lipstick on a pig comes to mind.

I've got some old equipment I would like to sell. It is somewhere between "trash" and "treasure." Maybe I need some tips converting from the former to the latter. :D

I would think Sand and paint, and good maintenance records would be a good start..

And why do you post this JIBERISH ? Who cares his TLB is SOLD.What is your point ? You did this same thing in the Kioti forums and then run off. I think you love to stir the pot and Love the conflict.WEIRD behavior.

The ignore list is a wonderful thing.

Courtesy and respect would be lost then, this forum is for people to help others, not ignore their need for help.. if a member is interested in helping another member, they should be allowed to do so. these are NOT private conversations, even PM's can be read by STAFF.. nothing is private on a forum..

And you helped the OP how telling him his ford 3400 TLB was worth $3,850 at most because that is what you read on some auction site? And low and behold he sold it for $9,000 grand.Good for you fried glad you got your $$ and did not listen to a few negative nellies.

PM's can't be read by anybody who doesn't have access to our database so that means moderators can't read PMs. The forum software itself doesn't have the functionality to just go poking around PM folders---and that includes administrators. Technically all data is all in our database but I have no interest in actually going through the effort of reading private messages. We're a small enough company that we can actually have honest policies. :D

Having said that if some day we get a call from law enforcement or a subpoena, yes, we might have to turn over PMs. But that's never happened in 21 years.
