Kioti DK40SE HST
I have a DK40SE HST with 120 hours. It's about four years old. Here lately it won't start. I turn the key and nothing happens. I always double check it is in neutral. I may have to turn the key 10-15 times and then boom it will start. It will restart again and again until it sits for a few days. Then I go though the same thing ordeal.

I have read online that the relays cause this. There are three that I can find...two blue ones with a black on in the middle. Not sure how I should troubleshoot this, or what else should I check?

Take the key switch apart. Be careful as the springs may throw one of two small BB's into oblivion. Clean it out real well as it will have some kind of nasty grease. If problem still persists then check the relay. With mine after I cleaned the switch it worked but would intermittently click. I finally figured out I was cranking too hard on the switch and overshooting the start contacts. yes it was that simple. They put some kind of possibly non oxide grease and it's just bad.

start with spraying thru the key slot with contact cleaner

The 2 Blue Relays on the firewall are the same relay. One of them is the start relay, the other is the fuel solenoid relay. Just switch the plugs on the 2 blue relays and attempt to crank the engine. It won't start (fuel solenoid not open), but if it turns over, replace the relay with the heavy red wire lead.

Hope this helps

It could be the relay but key switch problems are more common. In fact, consider doing this annually as preventive maintenance.
