Looking for John Deer 3040 Shop Service Manual

We just bought a John Deer 3040 made in Germany. (or part of it was) I am looking for a Shop Service Manual. The hydraulic's seem to be not putting out enough power to the PTO.

Welcome to TBN
The way I understand is the 3040 was built in Mannheim,Germany. Engine possibly could have been built in Saran,France.

You are correct in that I believe the body of the tractor was built in Mannheim,Germany. (Mannheim,Germany, excuse me while I have Army flashbacks) At least that what is says on the ID plate. We were thinking the enging was made in the US. how can you tell? I am guessing the serial No. or something?

The hydrolics on the PTO seem to be week or not working right. That's why I am looking for a shop manual for it to try and diagnose the problem. I ordered one online but that was 3 weeks ago.

One should be able to check pto hyd pressure on trans shift cover similar to photo. Pressure should be in the 155-165 psi range. My WAG is an oil supply tube to pto clutch is leaking.

For the engine, find the serial number tag. First two letter indicate where made. PE = Mexico, CD = France, JO = Argentina, UG = China.

Its France. it was on the plate. We ordered the Service Manual on June 25 form England. :thumbdown: it has yet to arrive. Any suggestion on where we can by and download one online?
