Hi,

I want to build a ripper for my skid steer. I would like to use parts similar to these.

Hay King Renovators - Hay King - Miller

Any one have a source for parts like that?

Most that I see look like they use the shanks off of a box blade. That would work but a box blade has nothing to trip or break if you hit something big. It looks like the pasture renovator shank has a bolt that would break so it could swivel and not break something.

Thanks

If you use the type of scarfier that has a series of holes for depth control, you could do something similar:

Google Image Result for https://cdn3.volusion.com/wf72e.9ho5t/v/vspfiles/photos/ETA-CMPBB-3HOLE-SHANK-PR-3.jpg

Upper hole for pivot axle

Lower hole with bushing to step down ID for smaller shear bolt.

Handful of extra shear bolts, wrenches, and a punch in the tractor toolbox.

Thanks. What I really need is the part that the tooth mounts too. I don't know what you call it but it would clamp to the tool bar and I would mount the ripper tooth to it

Those mounts are pretty basic fabrications for someone equipped to build attachments. OEM parts priced as they are, even a local welder might be cheaper if you have a good sketch.

what are you trying to do ? if you have more than a couple and trying to go very deep you will not have the necessary traction from a skid steer

Whats the relief valve pressure on your skid steers dump circuit ? I would design the ripper to exceed the relief valve in strength.

Break up dirt so I can move it, level ground, etc. Dirt is too hard to dig easily with just the bucket. I could get teeth for the bucket I guess

if you have the right kind if bucket and a smaller Skid Steer you can get away with a tooth bar they are relatively affordable - if you have a bigger machine you need a welded tooth bucket with the replaceable tips, i love mine!!!! it will dig up pretty much anything i want to dig up - we have red and gray clay here - if you dont knwo what gray clay is, its the hardest thing i have ever dug in, may was well be concrete and it will sharpen your tips up as well!!!

you will do a great job of breaking up things iwth the skid steer with a tooth bucket - if you live in an area that has better soils they work even better

I have the Deere heavy duty construction bucket so the tooth bar should bolt right on where the smooth edge is now. I have red clay here and black gumbo (which is black soil mixed with clay). I will see what one costs. Thanks
