Wow, haven't seen Little Kings for a while. Those and Genesee. Coworker originally from Kansas City introduced me 35 years ago. Have not seen them around the Sacramento Ca area in a long time though.

I also like skunky beers like Little Kings and Iron City Light.

Little kings was a Cincinnati beer, not sure where it is made now. It was in small bottles to make boilermakers

Little Kings is a cream ale. 5.5% alcohol. It's now made by Hudepohl-Schoenling Brewing Co. in Cincinnati. It started out as Schoenling Cream Ale. Hudepohl was another Cincinnati brewery and was bought by Shoenling in the 80's.

In the 90's they got sold to Boston Beer Co. ( Sam Adams maker). And then, talk about a soap opera, many sales, mergers, moves, sales, moves, mergers..... it's back to being made in Cincinnati, where it belongs!

Little Kings comes home to Cincinnati

I really don't like beer very much.. or alcohol for that matter. But if I'm going to have a few I prefer Sam Adams Light. ..if they don't have it, I get unsweetened ice tea.

Funny, unsweetened iced tea is what I drink...?.when there is absolutely no beer available

Speaking of beer "go withs". I had one of these at a local place called The Winking Lizard, after a hike in hot weather in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Really hit the spot.....

It's called a Corona-rita.

Crazy Ed's Cave Chili Beer. Voted one of the worst beers of all time, yet I loved the stuff!

I'm not a beer drinker but when I do I prefer a Lowenbrau. When in Ireland I did try a Guinness. It was ok. I don't drink much but prefer bourbon over ice.

I drink Rolling Rock. It's pretty cheap and I like it most of the time, but I think the real reason I stick with it is my fascination at how it can taste great for 10 sips, and then taste like a skunk peed in it for one, and then taste great again. My only explanation it that there is some compound in the beer that annoys a particular taste bud that lives in a shack in the woods by the back 40, but seldom gets that far.

The demolition was at old lackman brewery. Which hudepohl took over. Original hudepohl brewery is still Boston beer( Sam Adams). Hudepohl brewery was Boston beers first large scale brewery, prior to that they contract brewed their beer

Rolling Rock is now part of the Budweiser family. Working in Latrobe when bud took them over

At home in New England, I prefer the NE IPAs or IIPAs, such as Zero Gravity - Cone Head, 14th Star - Tribute, Alchemist - Focal Banger.

BUT, when I go to Central/Eastern Europe (just got back from a 4 week trip...) I absolutely love their lagers/pilsners. I've never had an American one that comes close to them. Some of my favorites are Alpirsbacher (Germany), Rugen Brau (Switzerland), Karlovacko (Croatia). The two main breweries in Slovenia were nothing special, but I had some at a local brewpub just east of Ljubljana that was fantastic. I gave the owner a tip and he gave me two 1.5L to-go bottles... :)

CUB (Carlton United Breweries) had their own Clydesdales up until fairly recently when they were retired
Goulburn Valley Giants - the Beautiful Carlton Clydesdales
They also used to have a tiny semi trailer for city deliveries, Melbourne has several streets that run North South and every second one is a minor street, the traffic is one way as they are so narrow and a regular truck cannot stop and unload.
This little semi had a prime mover about the size of a smart car and the trailer would carry the barrels but in a single row, was easy to park and unload and didn't obstruct traffic and the brewery was only about 15 minutes away so several city deliveries in these small lanes could be carried out in a day.
Unfortunately I can't find a picture but now they just use vans to make the delivery.

After watching how easily the stack broke down, it is amazing to think that it would stand up to a strong wind.

Ballantine Ale, love it.

A lot of my friends are into the micros brews and supper bitter, hoppy beers. Which are good, mostly. But nothing beats an ice cold Ballantine after working in the heat.

The stack was condemned for it's poor condition and was being hit by 5000lb wrecking ball.
