How Aldi, a brutally efficient grocery chain, is beating Walmart on low prices

interesting article about new German Aldi chain of supermarkets we've talked about here before.

Little strange typing...left hand is half again bigger than right, blown up like Gumbi Bear, thank you Mr Bee, whatever big sucker
you were, who stung my left middle finger about 9am this morning while I was pulling weeds in the potato field.
Man did that hurt, there was a hole left in me after washing it off and
putting on 1 percent cortisone cream, which did absolutely nothing.

This is what happened two years ago when I wound up with an Epi pen, which
is at the ready, but this time I took some leftover prescription Benadryl pills at lunch and as expected slept all afternoon. now I'm up with a hand that itches in about a thousand places but as it did before, I just have to wait it out. Last time when the swelling went past my wrist into my forearm I went to the hospital.
This time I'm keeping an eye on it here. Never even saw the bee, and I get stung and bitten by all kinds of insects, but once in a while it must be a
venom packed one.

I can only imagine what it must feel like for someone with a severe bee allergy to get stung in the neck.
That's when I'd be calling 911 and jabbing myself with that EpiPen, because if my neck got as swollen as my hand is right now, I couldn't breath.
I would like to get in the hot tub after working hard with volunteers this morning, but I think heat will aggravate the swelling.
Guess something cold would be a better idea. Going to crush some ice in the fridge, always sounds like world war three going on in there,
and try that approach in a baggy. At least it just itches and doesn't hurt.

I think I'm going to just lop those weed tops off now in the potato field instead of sticking my hand down inside the plant,

I believe it is officially the weekend.

You might have found your friendly neighborhood scorpion.

Mowed yesterday and sprayed some weeds, watered the new flowers we planted and sat out Wednesday, repaired a step tread that had worked loose somehow then installed the new stereo in the Monte Carlo, visited mom, came home and cleaned up the car for tomorrow’s Wings and Wheels show, and hooked up the club trailer so I could drag it the 1/4 mile to the Airport, Ellen will take the car. Now I’m sitting on the deck with my first cup of coffee for the day. Beautiful 81° with low humidity and a gentle breeze.

Ouch! But Just glad it wasn't a copperhead.

you can bet the first thing I checked for was one hole or two. One...
And I sure hope it wasn't a nasty spider.
Swelling seems to have stopped at wrist. Already on antihistamine and diuretics so maybe that helps keep down the swelling.

went out and watered plants and lawn for an hour, entire rear septic field is shown in brown lines it's been so dry and soil in that area
is shallow and dries out. I took a picture for future use to find where lines went.

Keep a close eye on that Drew and don't hesitate to go to an Urgent care or ER. When I got bit by a spider I turned bright red two days later and felt like I had the flew.

A pic from the router class.

Drew- I can relate in some ways, but for me antihistamines and epi-pens do not work for my situation. I hope your relief maintains and you can get some sleep.

It was a "real" 5 tick day here today between walking Brogen and prepping the garden. In the +30 years here and with probably the same amount of time spent outdoors I have never had a tick problem until ~ 2 years ago. With my peripheral/generalized neuropathy I feel ticks/ants all the time despite the Season especially at night. Seeing those little :censored: buggers actually crawling on this sorry buffet line does not help. On the + I am exhibiting improved hygiene. Sleep is as sleep does.

Took off a little early today.

Got youngest to mow back yard. I grilled burgers. Got my sunday lesson into powerpoint. Saw hummingbird on flowers, we dont put up a feeder. Wife has EVERY window in the house open, she just cant open a couple.

On way home had a crotch rocket pass doing every bit of 100+.

Garden looks dry enough to till. Tomorrow will put new battery in the massey, remove RFM and till.

Back field never got mowed once yet, is ready to make hay. I normally mow 1 or 2 times a month with RFM.

I still have a cough for well over a month.

I need to make some shelves for a closet.

Drew, sorry to hear about your nasty bite. Hopefully it will have been at its worst already and will now quiet down. Keep an eye on it.

Jay, I must have missed your post / pics, hope the meal was as good as the view!

A productive day for me in the shop.... I was able to grease the new tractor (about half of all the zerks were missed in the dealer prep). Got 3 bucket hooks installed, got a fantastic seat upgrade mounted (on sale at Rural King for $117, less than 1/2 price) , and got 2 tool (****) boxes mounted.
Then used the bucket hooks to lift the mower deck up in the air so I could clean it and sharpen the blades... It was sooo much easier to do!
Unfortunately, now I don't have an excuse not to cut the grass around the house tomorrow.....

Maybe by afternoon, I'll actually get to use the new tractor and do some road / driveway work. If not tomorrow, definitely on Sunday.

Everyone have a good evening!

And i got the Ferris quote, over 10k. Then realized they quoted a IS2100z instead of the IS700Z i asked for. They said it was an old model, yet Ferris shows it on their web site.

Nice modifications Ted.

Do you have a RK link for your new seat? What is the upholstery material? Were you able to install the seat safety switch on it?

I also use my FEL to lift up my 84" Rear Finish Mower for cleaning, blade change, etc. It makes that job very easy. Nice to stand and change blades with pneumatic impact.
