My cub 1042 kw wont stay running under a load.
Good fuel and cap off, and cked for spark.will run for ever with no blades running but wit blade. And high rpm may run a minute or 5 minutes.
Also the tube at the top of the fuel tank, where does it go??

From what I can find your 1042 comes with a single cylinder Kohler Courage engine.

Most of the time the problem lies in the emulsion tube which is located under the main jet. It has tiny passages which often need to be unplugged using a small strand of wire.

Removing the main jet without damaging its slot is critical.

Do not use just any old screw driver. Find one with a series of replaceable tips.

By hand, find the biggest, fattest, flat bit that will just fit in the main jet slot.

As you try and unscrew the main jet, keep a lot of downward pressure to keep the bit firmly in the jet slot.

With the main jet removed the emulsion tube should just fall out, perhaps with a small tap.

What exactly happens when your engine is under load?

Does is stop completely? Or does it sputter and stumble or what?
