Wow, who knew Wheel Horse was in the aviation industry?!?

Just curious, my sister lives in New Carlisle and between her and my BIL, they fly in/out of SBN almost every week. Do you work at the South Bend airport?

When we bought a (Fiat) Universal tractor in 72, it came with brochures on all the versions you could get. Tracked, Vinyard, Hi ones, low ones, 2wd, 4wd. I am sure the Europeans have come a long way since then. We haven't.

Kinda cool but what he is doing on those hills is not smart.

I didn't think it looked that steep. I have a short hill at least that steep, and as long as the grass on it is dry, I mow it with my Grass Hopper, side hilling.

Been doing it for years and years, no big deal at all...

Looked pretty steep to me in a few spots he was going sideways. The vehicle looks pretty narrow and the rops doesn't look like it would protect much, I didn't notice if he was wearing a belt or not, either way, that thing does not look very comfortable..

If there had been a demand for them we would have them,
there have been attempts to bring tracked and dozer type tractors to market.
They just have not sold in viable numbers.
Also if loaded heavily tracks are rough on the surface they are being used on.
If R1's are rough on your lawn just think about twisting that high lugged track
in a tight turn.
Yes the Europeans have more to choose from, they have a much more varied base to work from.

I worked at one of the fixed base operators there from about 1980-1986, but spent much of my youth hanging out at that FBO because my best friend's father owned the operation and was an aircraft salesman.

I didn't like that at all. Watching him start to go down the hill without the tiller at about 2:10 made me nervous. That thing looked like it wanted to roll forward before he even got to the steep part and, without a seatbelt, would not have ended well. I notice the video cut away the section where he actually goes down the hill. Maybe it did try to tip and they cut it out of the video???

Why no one else see's what you and I do is beyond me.. I see nothing about the machine that I care for. The seat and leg position is ridiculous. The liability would be the problem with that thing, is it neat looking, I guess but it's a piece of unengineered junk IMO..

I would be surprised if Yanmar builds any junk. Usually, first class, sensible stuff.
