I had a friend who convinced a CAA driver to transport a free hot tub he got. This would be a good way to get around the ambulance charges! I would sooner crawl to the hospital than pay those guys!

When my 95 year old FIL passed away, he was to be transported about four hours away to the receiving funeral home and final resting place. The amount the funeral home wanted for transport was really steep so my wife had them put the casket and remains in the back of the truck and I drove him down. Apparently, it's done all the time.

He was a great guy so we gave him the historical respect he deserved by driving courteously and carefully. I don't think he ever said a bad word about anyone and was well liked by the people he knew and worked with. Unfortunately, he outlived them all.

I can't tell from the picture if they're real. When I was just out of HS a friend had a lifelike rubber hand sticking out from between the rear doors in his van. He drove it like that for several years.

Didn't have time to take a pic today, but a guy dumped a skid steer off a trailer onto the overpass on a very busy street in town today. Don't know if he killed anyone. Maybe next time he'll actually chain the thing down. See too much of this crap around here, guys pulling skidders on trailers with no chains or tie downs of any kind. At least it didn't go over the side of the overpass onto the interstate. That probably would have killed some folks.

May be mistaken but I believe generally the funeral industry strongly lobbies against such tactics.
They even want dedicated pet cemeteries and as far as I know human remains are to only be interred in approved sites.
On the other hand I know of some odd practices like scatter ashes 'in back 40' or toss them into the air over a favorite site.

Then there is the lobbying for cemeteries for every different religion. Can't cross contaminate remains I guess.

As for me, toss my ashes, I wont care when that time comes.

I doubt that’s a real human body on that stretcher.
