Ecofans stove top fans??

Late fall and early spring one of these "if you find one that works" would be handy when the stove blower is to much and no blower isn't enough. My blower has one speed and it will drive you out of the house when it's on when the outside air temp is above 20F. I find myself turning it on and off a lot in those temps.

I do have a ceiling fan up 18 feet but don't really use it, lots of dust in a log house and it blows it everywhere..

We live in amish country.I have viewed 5 different echofan models the amish had on a working display in there stores. They seem to perform pretty well IMHO..

I would say that if you've seen them in person and felt the air produced...the go for it!

Maybe as an added selling feature, they could include an eco-friendly humidifier. A drinking "Happy Bird".

Yes, I do have one. I enjoy electro-mechanical gadgets and this is okay but doesn't actually move enough air to be of any practical use. Ceiling fans are the better option for air/heat distribution. My fan is a 7" 4-blade. Perhaps the 2 blade moves more air...don't know. I can feel a small breeze out to about 8" but no further.
Just curious what make and model? Thanks.

Mine is the Valiant Premium 4 imported from England. I also ordered one from China that never showed up(received a torn up envelope). Amazon refunded my money on that one.

I got a Ecofan Airmax back in December and think it does a fine job moving air...of course, the hotter the stove, the faster it turns and the more air that is moved. No problem with it self-starting, and no problem with dust from the woodstove. I have a steamer pot of water right behind it and so it blows some of the more humid air into the next room.

IMHO the ceiling fan brings down the warm air and the echo fan would push it out farther into the living area.

I don't have an ecofan so I won't offer an opinion, other than I always found them intriguing.
I have a ceiling fan in the same area as my wood stove, in my finished basement. I run the fan in reverse 100% of the time, pulling air up and pushing it out across the ceiling in all directions. My local stove guy recommended that and it works great pushing the air out farther and there's no draft or air movement noticed. Every house is different, and what works for one doesn't work for another, but give it a try if you haven't.

Sounds like you have "radiant floor" heat for your first floor. Interesting.

Maybe they do, why not buy one of them and try it, maybe they make one that works better than any we have seen, don't know.
I like the idea just haven't seen one in any of the local hearth stores around that actually work well. If the Amish make it, it might work.. I like Amish products..
I wish we had the Amish out here.

Hmmm... something to investigate for this upcoming Winter.

I heat via my wood-heater, which is in my 'cathedral ceiling' living room. The room also has a variable speed ceiling fan to gently push all of that warm air down.

I'm wondering if this will be of benefit or another one of my gadgets... :scratchchin:
I can't speak on the subject of eco fans... but will add that we have a gas (propane) fireplace with an electric built in fan and a cathedral ceiling with a ceiling fan in our living room. It puts out decent heat but doesn't 'throw' it. The ceiling fan on low speed does a great job of pushing that mass of warm air back down on our sitting space without the feel of any breeze.
