Safeway has them on sale here quite often, last week i got some 3.99/lb.
It has become my frequent contribution when our Happy Hour is at someone’s house. I season with coarse ground garlic salt with parsley and ground black pepper before I vac seal and freeze. When thawed I cut in strips and normally grill on the gas grill, sometimes the Primo. I only make it cuz it’s so popular LOL

The snow started right on time at 12 noon. At 2:30 P.M. we had about 3/4". I may need to plow this evening (I plow at 4"), we will see.

I use top round roasts for beef jerky. But your recipe sounds very tasty:drool:, too, David, and sounds like a LOT less work! Thanks for sharing!

David- Your weather system is called a Kona Low or Kona Storm. Not a common Winter event for Hawaii.

I have prepped LB like you, but never froze it prior to use. I like your technique. Like RNG posted- it saves work. I usually marinade beef in a Worcester-Soy Sauce + minced garlic, bay leaf, and other spices. I consider it a brining solution. I brine a lot of meats prior to cooking. Not exactly a good choice, but it definitely juices up drier cuts. I do have to watch the length of time; some meats really suck up the salt solution quickly.

Hi guys. Been busy today, snow plowing on the tractor, house, yard, 2 neighbors drives, then snow blowing, shoveling. Then lunch. Then off to my wife’s shop. More snow blowing, more shoveling. Stopped to get my wife her fancy coffee, then home. Got home about 4. Getting tired of snow.

Jay, sorry about Dr. Who, RIP.

Lodge meeting tonight. Going to be tired.

Here's a preface to good (hopefully) things to come....threw a couple of chicken breasts in there too for tommorow nights dinner....

David, we have similar rubs...First I rub it with olive oil, then I use coarse kosher salt, white ground pepper, onion and garlic powder, basil and parsley. Let it sit in the fridge about 24 hours. Going to smoke it 'low and slow' at 205-210 ° , to an internal temp of 125 ° , then a quick high heat sear on the gas grill, maybe 2 minutes each side. Let it rest for 20-30 minutes. Slice and mmmm.... At least I hope

A few miles east of Irv. Got some seat time. About 2” of snow. Then sleet, freezing rain and finally rain. Took about 1/2 hour to clean up the mess. Took wife to Dr. was 45 minutes early. Because no one else was on the mostly cleared roads.
One local road was closed on way back. Because of a fatal accident. Driver lost control and crossed over into opposite lane.
