Good Morning! 29 ˚F clear skies. The wind will shift and come from the South today taking the temps to the mid 60s.

Rick, thanks for the link on yard care. I started by mowing off the dead grass yesterday. My 56v EGO battery is in it's 6th year and I can only do half the yard before I have to re-charge, so I will need a new battery this spring.

Last pickle ball class today and then we graduate.
A resident is donating a lawnmower to the Garden club, I need to pick it up later.
Have a safe day.

Don't forget tomorrow is Valentines day!

Wheeeew! Hard to sleep with rain comin' down at close to half an inch an hour, wind blowin' a lot of it up against the windows. The gutters are gurglin', in the distance the wind in the trees sounds like ocean waves breakin' on the beach, and the wind driven rain is hissin' as it hits the windows. Yellow and orange radar returns are still to the west, so it's gonna start rainin' even harder in a little bit. If there's gonna be flooding in the Camp Fire burn scar, tonight'll be the night. In the mountains to the east and to the west, it's snowin' hard; they're gonna have their hands full in the mornin'. I-5 northbound out of Redding is closed at Fawndale, as usual in this kind of weather. It's a good night to be home, tucked into bed with the woodstove banked for the night. Think I'll try and get a few more hours of sleep...

Got this from our computer club, thought some might be interested:

Costco members can get just over 15% off iTunes gift cards on $100 or $25 denominations. That makes them $84.49 and $21.95 respectively. The redemption code will be sent in an email. Here is how to do it:

First, you must already be a Costco club member.
Go to Welcome to Costco Wholesale and sign in with your Costco.com account info (or register if you don't have an online account)
The opening screen will have a banner for 'Last Minute e-tickets gift ideas

  • Click on the banner in Safari
  • Scroll down to the $25 or $100 iTunes card
  • Tap the card and it will go into your cart
  • Proceed to checkout
  • You will receive an email in a few minutes
  • Open the email and tap the redemption code
  • Click the code and select 'Redeem' in the upper corner of the screen.
  • The credit will be placed in your iTunes accountThe next time you are charged for iCloud storage or make a purchase in the App/iTunes/Books store, the credit will be used instead of you credit card.
I can't tell when the sale will end, but I'd guess on Valentines day. It has be on sale for a couple of days already.

Interesting. I signed onto Costco this morning with my PC using Chrome. The prices above showed up as what I would pay with E-Delivery. But I do not use iTunes. Sale ends 2/16/2019.

surprisingly warm morning, 55 out, going up a few degrees. I'm looking at ten day outlook and geez, how about 6 straight days of rain starting Friday night. The ground will never dry up and my potatoes aren't getting planted in that. They'd rot for sure. Need to be patient...
Very happy I finished all the collards yesterday, had to be careful walking in the muddy field, almost face planted in the mud carrying a tray of seedlings, clay spot sure was slick...nearly got the golf cart stuck as I went fishtailing out of there.

going foodshopping this morning, then will wash new Massey, get my rototilling dirt off it as the dealer is coming for it, again...., tomorrow.
Bit of upset with dealer, owner apologizing right and left for missing several things we talked about. He's really a good guy and says he is deservedly embarrassed. Ok. Put an order in for a loader accumulator which I read about here on TBN, small hydraulic tank that takes the bounce out of the loader, they will install that when they fix my rear camera. Awful install on that , really amateur hour and I took them to task on it. Wiring not secured properly, screen so far away I couldn't focus and camera put off to the side in the rear instead of in the middle. Service manager is coming out with driver tomorrow and we will be very clear this time about where things go. My error too in not being more specific.

I really believe these small dealerships are having a tough time keeping qualified help.

12 and going to a high of 21°F. Wind E 18 gusting to 28 mph. Snow in the forecast and it hasn't stopped since yesterday at noon. We've got about 6" or so right now. I will be plowing this morning around 9, I will start.
I'm not complaining, I love the snow.
This is what all the energy conservation is about.

Way back in the last century when I was a young gaffer, I would get my toboggan and leave the house at about 9 A.M. and you wouldn't see me again until about supper time, sometime around 5/6 P.M. Cold feet? YES! Did they bother me? Only when they started to warm up. They ached huge time. Did I care? At the time yes. That wouldn't stop me from going right back out the next day and doing it all over again.
I have never been on skis in my lifetime, but I had a highly polished wooden toboggan that was the fastest on the hill. The hill was about 100' elevation from top to bottom and 1/8 mile long with a marshy area at the end. I got my butt wet many times.

Have a good day all

As long as your spuds go in the ground near the end of May, they will be fine. Patience is a virtue son.

You need to put it in writing with these small stealerships.

Good luck getting anything done right!

2nd cup of coffee is brewed, 26 now, 34 for a high. Still under a flood watch after all of the rain yesterday. River was way up when I headed home last evening.

Drew, anyone in the mobile equipment business regardless of size is struggling to find/retain qualified tech people. It is becoming a significant issue. I deal with the lack of qualified people and turn over constantly. It isn稚 pretty.

IMO, there needs to be an emphasis on the trades as an educational opportunity for people. Ok, end of soapbox minute.

Well, time to try to get my head into work today, everyone have a safe and good day.

38 going to 51 and windy. At least it stopped raining and I can see some stars.

Some of you guys are up extra early. Hope you get some rest/nap time later.

Check, hope you're doing well.

David, I'm thinking of you right now as I'm enjoying some coffee from Maui. Maybe plant a few coffee trees on your hill after you kill off that manz. (?)

Sounds like the northern tier guys are turning into snowMEN.

Taking my wife to allergy shots and then some grocery shopping and some Tex Mex. She told me she was gone 4 weeks instead of 3, like I thought.
