32 going to 41 and sunny. Fired up the woodstove this morning after going out over the warm days this week.

Roy, prayers for your wife.

Don, CWD reached Virginia 10 years ago in a northwestern county next to West Virginia. The state Dept of Game and Inland Fisheries set up a 4 county containment area with special testing of deer carcasses, and laws regarding transportation of deer. They have found 38 infected deer so far.

Rip - that run-in is looking good.

The Asphalt Angels Car Show is over in Doswell this weekend...trying to decide if I should go. Went a couple of years ago and had a good time.

Good morning to all! Low of 26, going up to 46, overcast to partly cloudy. No precip expected.

Roy, prayers sent for your Mrs. , hope she has a speedy, uneventful recovery!

Rick, ....we're all waiting patiently for the recipe.....

Mike, the run in looks good, I definitely like the partition across the back.

David, don't forget pics as the project progresses. We all like pics....

Drew, temps getting that low for recent transplants might be stressful, could loose a few....

On the puppy front..... We found a solution to his attempts to eat everything when he goes outside... Cheerios!.... I put some in my pocket and after he does his business, he gets a few. Didn't take him long to start keeping an eye on my hand to see if it's reaching in that pocket...totally distracted from the plants / mulch. Now he will come right back to the walkway and sit down and wait. He's totally food driven.

He still goes totally 'nuts' when he hears his food bowl inside...or the microwave, or the refer door open, or a crinkle of a bag.... We're working on getting him to sit and wait at feeding time, but progress is much slower. The old lady dog tries to get him in line, but she gives up too quickly.

It's taken almost a month for her to actively 'play' with him. They will now jump and play with toys together, but the older one gets tired out much faster than the pup and gives up trying to keep up with him. He is also now the same size as her, but a few pounds lighter.

Everyone have a great weekend, prayers out for all!

It's only down to -3° this morning. Yesterday was partly cloudy with a high in the low 20's and almost no wind. Today is going to be partly cloudy this morning and overcast by afternoon with lite winds. It looks like a chance of snow showers overnight.

I got the driveway cleaned up yesterday just in time for the next round of snow and wind. That's on its way Sunday night in to Monday morning.
Ted ... I have the doors and windows shut but I can't guarantee it's going to work. Wish we could get temperatures like that.

I have a 97 F 250 with the power stroke. It has 215,000 on it. The last time I checked the mileage on it I was still getting 19 miles per gallon. I don't have any planned on getting rid of it. The salt is starting to take its toll on it but I still like the truck.

Hope everyone has great weekend
CWB.

I was not able to itemize this year for the first time in 30+ years due to the tax law changes.

With standard deduction for a couple at 24k, charity contributions no longer help. I get norhing for donating my car last yr.

Wonder if i should look at filing seperately.

Overall, my taxes stayed about the same, made slightly more, paid slightly more in taxes.

Good Morning! 19F with wind chill in single digits. The wind has sounded like a very long freight train going by since yesterday. The windy conditions are forecast to wind down this evening.

We are seeing lots of brown poking through the snow due to the warm days and rains of this past week. I spent some time last Sunday bucketing the snow banks back at nearby culvert locations on our private road in anticipation of the rain.

Todays plans include typical Saturday catch up errands and a skype call with our group of riders to discuss plans for this summers KY Bourbon Trail ride.

Enjoy your day Everyone!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!

A 17ºF windy night loud enough to keep me awake most of the evening. From the looks of branches on the ground gusts were probably ~40mph. Still 17ºF with an anticipated high ~low 20ºF’s. Looks like I’ll be seeing lake effect snow flurries all day. It also looks like parts of NE will be seeing some plowable snow Tuesday-Wednesday. My area may change over to mixed precipitation/rain. Next weekend is also starting to look interesting weather-wise..

Rick- I like your cooktop. Your chicken noodle soup looks to be great eats. Thanks for sharing.

Drew- I think your body is telling you to take it easy this weekend and relax. It reads like the greasy spoon experience was productive and you did not get sick. Every time I succumb to my baser instincts at a greasy spoon I regret my poor choices later. :(

RonJH- I hope your mending and strength building continues without pain.

Roy- I hope your Wife heals quickly and without complications.

Ted- Great idea using cheerios as a distractor/reinforcer. It’s nice to read that the dogs are bonding. I hope that your knee is less “talkative” today.

All our St. B’s were/are rice cake junkies.

I hope that everyone has a decent weekend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers,

Not only is that soup looking really really good, that is one heck of a stove. What brand of stove.

Our whole kitchen, at the Ranch, is GE Monogram. The cooktop is a 48" with 6 burners plus a grill / griddle under the stainless cover. We have two very deep, full width drawers, under cooktop for pots/ pans.

We stacked a GE Advantium oven, 30" Convection oven, and warming drawer with more storage above.

We also have a GE 42" built-in refrigerator.

The sink and dishwasher are in the island.

29 early, 35 now and 36 is predicted.

That Navistar 7.3 was a great engine, around here they lost a big market share to the Cummins, and now it’s pretty evenly split between them and Duramax. The Ford 6.0 and all its problems cost them a lot of market share. All current big three are excellent engines.

I had a 87 F250HD with 6.9 diesel. 170 hp 5 speed standard shift. Used it to haul my 29' boat. Ran great. Sold it to my neighbor in 1995. He still has it. Drive train is still good. But body is badly rotted.
