Productive day here. 6.5 gallons penetrating sealer applied to concrete. All but the lanai area which i haven’t fully decided whether to acid stain and seal or just seal. Would have to wait another 2 1/2 weeks if I acid stain.
Also got a start on painting 2x6s, 16 footers.

Good morning all, it's windy here too.

Someone asked if I had plans for the new houses that are to be build close by. They have now published them, subject to planning approval. If you want to be my neighbour you have plenty of choice, 18 styles of house design make up the 70 houses, from a 1 bed maisonette, 2 & 3 bed bungalows, right up to 1950 sq ft 5 bedroom houses with detached garage. You may need to swap your truck for something smaller though if you want to put it in the garage.

Drew, you are a very special farmer - your plants bring pleasure to far more people than just those who eventually eat them.

18 above with wind gust over 40 mph. Sounds like a train going by as it blows against the house. Glad I’m warm and cozy drinking coffee inside next to the pellet stove. Not sure what I will do today. Stay safe all.

2 above, going to a high of 10°F. Wind WNW 21 gusting to 29 mph. Mainly sunny.

Just before last Christmas I found Orange Brandy Cranberry Sauce that is awesome. It doesn't need to be refrigerated after opening and is not as sweet as Ocean Spray AND as an added bonus it is Made in Canada. I use it with chicken as well as turkey.
I am going out this fine morning to get some more.

I am also going to charge up my four batteries for the grease gun today. (Cheaper electric rates on weekends.)

Have good day all

Buppies;
Chrysler Canada wanted $700.oo each for new 19" rims. No way! I would buy from the wreckers long before I ever paid 700 for A rim.
One of the mechanics at the dealership has a whole bunch of them. $200.oo apiece. I bought 4 of them. The rim hunt is over.

good morning all. 46 degrees and not going up one degree all day, then dropping to 28 tonight.
Hmmmm, for six to ten hours below freezing, do I put up the row covers? I think not. Cabbages, kale and spinach, should be pretty cold hardy. Anyone with experience here?
other than tonight, nothing colder than 36 in the ten day outlook. I'm not a gambler, I'm an insurance man..., and maybe I'll put up a few row covers if only to see what they look like.

I'm not sure what part of my body is complaining more this morning. Hands are puffed up, neck hurts, all pretty normal for having way too much fun. Two trays of collards left to do today. I'll do one and let my afternoon helper do the other. He loves to plant.

80 yesterday, 46 today, no more shorts for me...

Eric a 5 bedroom house in the US would normally be quite a bit larger than 2000 sf, particularly in Texas...;) Must not be many large rooms in that house. Am thinking there's lots of head shaking going on among the long time residents. I'd wonder most about the traffic.
I think a really big sign saying Killer Sheep would keep them off your property.

headed out to local greasy spoon two minutes away for a vegan breakfast burrito. Not.
I doubt half the folks in there even know what vegan means.
Isn't that one of them weird hippie foods?

let's see, two eggs, double order of deep fried pork tenderloin, toasted wheat bread dripping in butter, gosh I bet that makes Don slightly nauseous... Problem is finding something not deadly to eat in there.
So far, I've found ordering scrambled eggs is the safest, they slide around in oil on the griddle but sure beats the alternatives. Let's just say they sure don't serve oatmeal here...most popular food item is a cheese biscuit, home made biscuits with the equivalent of a Velveeta insides. I tried to eat one, once, and could get half of it down. But the locals love it, worse the kids stop on the way to the high school and that dose of sludge is what they call a full breakfast. Local coronary docs aren't going to retire any time soon here.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 9° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 25° with some sun. Got a couple of projects to get done in shop. May get started on them today.

Yesterday was last day of PT. Still need to work more on strength. I now have full motion of arm without pain if there is some help applied. Going to be good not to have to 3 days a week interrupted with trips to PT. Would I recommend surgery? NO! But after everything else has been tried. Go for it. Be aware it will take over 4 months for recovery. Ok for a retired person. What does a working person do. For my son. He closed his business. Stayed at home and became a Stay at Home Dad. Kids grades jumped to A's and his arm got better after surgery. He could do it. His wife is the primary breadwinner in their house. He now has a 9 to 5 job in QC.

Eric, the one level house is to small. Two story house is out for seniors. Looks like they building some of the homes on the side of a hill? Holpe they have plans to control rain water. Send it to your pond?

Rick, soup looks good. Finished wifes pot of Pea soup yesterday. I am sure she would make some Lost Creek Chicken Noodle soup if she had a recipe. :D

David, we need to put you in with Drew, take some time to smell the roses.

Drew, great pictures. Have a good breakfast. I have to do the greasy spoon breakfast every ounce and a while. Still taste good.

Looking, Orange Brandy Cranberry Sauce sounds good.

Good Morning All.

Quote-------"bought my first Toyota, and never looked back at Ford again until a friend of mine persuaded me to buy the 2000 F250 I have now. The only reason he was able to do so was the 7.3 liter Diesel engine in it, designed and built by INTERNATIONAL! ----RNG

IMHO one of the best trucks built...with the 7.3L powerstroke. I had a '99 crew 4x4 that I had special ordered with the 6 speed Allison tranny, heavy 'snow plow' front suspension, and a gullwing door utility cap. I absolutely loved that truck. My big mistake was selling it.

Part of my job many years ago was supervision of 17 wrecker companies that contracted to tow for the police department. All but one of those companies were using Chevrolet trucks; gasoline powered of course. And a year after Ford came out with the 7.3L powerstroke, they all changed from Chevrolet to the Ford 7.3L.

Eric, we have new houses AND huge new apartment complexes going up all over this area. But I don't know of a single new house being built without an attached two car garage, and three car garages are quite common now.

My wife had heart catherization yesterday. I was supposed to help out at a gun show in Barre (VT) today, but wifey can't be alone for a couple days...so, that's my plan for today...and tomorrow. Main thing, no lifting or movement with her arm
