No ether since re-ringing.

Ring gaps not aligned with each other. I知 thinking the injectors aren稚 atomizing the fuel, then again, there isn稚 a large quantity of fuel coming out when I crack the injectors.

Your going to need to pull the Injectors so you can check the spray. Pull one out and take a piece of cardboard and see what the spray looks like. If any. And here a U-tube Video of what the spray should look like. And while you have them out I would check the compression. I have a feeling your going to find the problem.

You also need good airflow, in and out. . . how sure? :confused3: No mention of air filter, and how sure are you of no back pressure? Only way is to remove exhaust and start tractor.

I went over that! Told him to pull the Exhaust and clean it even. Then try it and if it hits put it back on. It won't even try to hit apparently and there isn't anything that hasn't been recommended to do.

Yep, only re-read his posts, and no mention. . . As said, if everything mentioned has been tried it HAS to start:confused3:
. As my old cash register repair manuals used to say, if not fixed after going through the flow chart, do it again, there is no magic.

That also why I said to pull the Inj.. We don't know the condition of them and if they show good then he's getting out the Comp. tester. Do inj go bad or get dirty and plugged up ? Sure so by his prev. post and used the either before the lower end I'm not ruling that out!!

Good air flow in and out. Lower end is done also. Head looked good, valves doing what they should. Decamp working correctly. Got to check the injectors. Then I guess the pump would be next. Should be like new then. I’m like you guys, compression, air, (fuel?) should start. Will keep at it, kinda bullheaded about things.

So what "I'M HEARING" is>> u took a shower & put on dirty socks.. lol
{pulled the engine apart & put the old fuel system back on without getting it checked}

/ YM 1700 hard starting #72
I apparently missed it, but exactly what PSI compression reading did you get?:confused3: Good compression, 400PSI+, good fuel at the right time and good air im/out is all you need.

/ YM 1700 hard starting #73
He hasn't. I told him to pull the injectors.#65 And if they're good check the compression and I believe between the two he was going to find the problem.

Am going to pull the injectors and clean them. If that doesn’t do the trick, the pump is next. Thank all of you guys for your advise!

Whatever you do, don't check that compression. . .. :confused3:

Planned on it. Thx!

What ever u do>> DO NOT run the end of the tip across a wire wheel.!!!
That's a guaranteed trip to the "injector store."
I've never seen a compression tester adaptor for a 1700..??
UNLESS u have an old injector u can make it from?? I'm just thinkin out loud..

Thanks Winston..
..do u know what the other end looks like?? is it threaded like the actual injector, female threads UP IN the body & will only seal w/ their line??
or is it "standard" threads that u can adapt to a tester?

I has 1/8 npt threads for tester connection. I don't know but just assume the bottom end seals on a gasket when clamped down. Only assumption, have never laid my eyes on one.
