What type of snow base does that leave on the drive? With the spring thaw and rain the base on my driveway turns to ice until it melts back down to gravel.

OK, it leaves about 2/3 inches of base but with reasonable snow tires that no problem plus in spring that melts real fast.

... If you have much crown in your driveway, a third one in the middle of your bucket is a good idea.

I added a third one in the middle to deal with a decent crown, rather than futz with spacing them 'just right' on a 60" wide bucket and getting at best 'close enough'. 550' unpaved and nicely crowned. Had to re-grade/remove gravelly 'curbs' made by years of being plowed by a PO's truck plow pals. :confused2: Edge Tamers have reduced my plowing time by about 1/2 as I'm no longer sweating bucket level to such a fine degree.

IMO this is no time to skimp and expect just two Edge Tamers to be enough, other than to prove a point. You only buy 'em once in a lifetime. The 'berms' blades make are great for collecting drift, and it takes a FEL to really move snow off of the right of way vs heaping 'siderows' to melt back into the middle. Use your loader for what it does best, relocate snow so Spring melt runs off where you want it to.

Yep, and that's just what I look for and leave on my gravel driveway. No windrowing gravel.
