I've read in at least one state, you have to actually qualify with every individual weapon you want to carry.

Texas does NOT have such a law; HOWEVER long before I retired, the police department had such a rule for the officers; a result of some lawsuits around the country in which lawyers started suing police departments for inadequate training. In Dallas, officers back then were issued .38 special 6 shot revolvers; some S&W, some Colts. But officers were allowed to carry anything they wished; .38 or larger. But when they started being required to qualify with the specific weapon they carried, that pretty well got rid of all the old Colt autos and such things as the .44 magnums.

Hot tea, honey, lemon and medicinal addition of FireBall. Hadn’t heard of adding aspirin before.

and half a glass of hooch? How many ounces is that? No wonder you fall asleep....however, seriously important you actually wake up at some point. This is your Mother...be careful mixing alcohol and any meds. Lot of folks die that way, granted most not in moderation.
I take a fistful of muscle relaxants, nerve pain meds, etc that are worrisome when mixed with too much booze. I drink
very little but if you filled half that glass with sherry vs vodka, I'd feel less worried for you. I don't like sherry though...

I'm going to try the virgin variety of that. Well, maybe rum. Everything goes better with rum....:dance1:

Happy birthday to Bird, and my oldest living sister.

Is it just me, or do we circle the sun faster as we go along on the trip of life.

Not supposed to get real cold here, at least they havent predicted negative temps yet.

Bill- I'd add a jigger of rum;) more as tolerated:cool:

I couldn't murder the excellent taste of rum with the lemon, honey and ginger. If you are going to spike the drink, then you might as well forgo the other ingredients and just drink the rum. Captain Morgan Black Label comes to mind. A good black rum.

You are quite correct to be careful, Drew.
Fireball is a cinnamon whiskey. Proved a good addition even if I kept it light, less than a shot in my cup of tea, so 3-4 ounces over 6 hours. My only other meds were 2.5 benedryl (only the .5 during tea) and 1 ibuprofen (well before the tea)

understood.
perhaps this is why the old saying about the next drink being "medicinal" came about.

Ok, first a nice sip of the straight rum, get that nice sweet flavor over your tongue,
then go for the stuff you can truly call medicinal.

Alcohol is supposed to be bad for hypothermia. Stay inside by the woodstove while you take your medicine.
Now if only that woodstove would automatically refill itself like a pellet stove with an auger.
Unless you have one of them. ?
And can you get one with a remote? ;)

Our family cure was 8oz of Mogen David Concord Wine heated in a sauce pan. Then poured into coffee cup. Just breathing the fumes cured most illnesses.

About 5 years ago I had a pellet stove. I won't tell you the brand, but I will tell you that I will be long dead before another one comes into this house. The computer board went out of it and dam near killed us all. I woke up for a p and the house was full of smoke. Kick open the doors and windows and get everybody up and out. In the middle of winter it is not fun. So whenever anybody suggests a pellet stove to me I usually tell them where to stick it.
For those of you that have them and like them, more power to you. Myself, NO way!

When I drank I tried to do what the sign said, "Drink Canada Dry". I tried, that didn't work either. A normal mixed drink for me was two fingers, measured from the top of my index finger to the bottom of my pinky finger. About 3.75 inches of booze in the glass and enough mix to colour it, faintly.

? then you might as well forgo the other ingredients and just drink the rum. Captain Morgan Black Label comes to mind. A good black rum.? Bill. ;). I would be afraid of scalding myself boiling the water. A decent aged dark rum or tequila ç*¥p would be safer and easier/safer to carry while using crutches.

Drew- I agree; mixing booze & meds is never a good idea; especially those meds with sedating/muscle relaxing qualities. Awareness of alcohol-med reactions and moderation is the ideal. Chemically, alcohol is a nasty liquid to ingest. Nice feet:eek:

Dave- I am happy that you are feeling better.

I am losing track of who is ailing, who is on the mend, and much easier those relatively healthy few, but the number varies on a daily basis.:(

Mogen David wine brings up a lot of memories- some good; but most really, really, bad.

Since we are posting feet. I sent this image to Amazon as well as an attempt to this mythical company's website. I was angry/frustrated the other day as to how this is - impacting Wifey and Brogen.:(. It is what it I for me BTDT 2X before for broken bones and ligaments. I am more curious now as to the reactions to my actions. I expect nothing will happen.
