Deer feeder I ordered was on back porch this morning. So went out to shop an made a mount to attach it to bird feeder post. Got the project done without any injuries.

Wngsprd, sorry about your injury. I have a roll of gorilla tape that works well. It is thicker than normal duct tape.
Rick, the best part is your tractor did not disappear in the quick sand. But it sure is dirty.
My son works at a automotive additive company in QC. He also is trainer for new employees. A good week will get 5 new employees a week. Bad weeks may be double that. Company is a suburb of Flint, Mi.
RNG, good video.
Everyone stay safe and warm.

Drinking first cup of hot coffee. -5° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 18° with partly cloudy skies. Another cold one. Interesting visit with duct guys a home show. The product they use only seals leaks in the system. Watched a video. Looking forward to Thursday visit. Going to be mostly a conserve energy day.

Found this video. Should be a good way to start conserving or doing a slow start on a cold morning.

Don, looks like a lot of work. Be Careful lifting.

Kyle, just put a model airplane propeller on it.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.
nice tune Ron.

You'd probably have to kill us if you told us, but what's it for?

I can't tell you, but if it pans out and the patents are battened down, then I can tell you.

Since I nearly always have a refund coming, I nearly always get my income tax return filed early. I wondered what the government shutdown might do, since I'd seen news reports about the IRS employees off and other news reports saying they were still working.:confused2:

So yesterday, I filed my income tax return about 10 a.m., using TurboTax Deluxe as I've done for many years. The automated response I got from TurboTax was that it would be sent on to the IRS Monday, the 28th (my 79th birthday). But then at 1:52 p.m. I got another email saying it had already been accepted by the IRS, and it also included the usual "tracking tool" which says I should receive my refund within 21 days.

And I'm not sure whether that tracking system is from the IRS or just from TurboTax.
Happy pre-emptive birthday Mr. Bird!

28 high of 44 today cloudy this morning but no wind.was out with wife yesterday evening rock hits windshield nice star after five minutes full crack across windshield that’s a first for us

Don doing the raised beds the right way looks great

Good to hear you're better.

Good morning! Scattered showers this morning, had several hit last night. 47 ˚F heading to the mid 50s, might be too wet to be a tractor day, we will see.

Need to head over to the gardens this morning, I left about 50 blocks in the middle. I needed some string which I forgot and one of my neighbors pulled some string out of one of his blocks. He said he needs to straighten his blocks also one day but he hasn't had time. Right after his wife finished chemo she broke her hip. After he left I straightened his garden.

I went to Home depot last night and got 70 feet of 2" PVC to run along the canal in the top layer of my cement blocks. That will stabilize them. #1 fall hazard in the gardens is people stepping on the top row of blocks and they move. (a block slipped out from under my foot on my first day) There are several types of top cement blocks in the gardens but for all those with U blocks, like I have, this should work. I'll take some pics for them and you. Total cost of PVC including anchoring "T"s and "L"s is only $99. Trip to the ER is $500 (deductible) and a long stretch of limited everything.

Your a good man Don.

43° this morning and forecast to get to 64° this afternoon.

I didn't get time to post yesterday as it was errand day. Left the ranch at 5:30 a.m. taking load of recycling to our house in Richmond. Friday is recycle day there. A few stops at Sam's Club, Harbor Freight, Northern Tool, Home Depot and headed home with a stop at feed store for horse feed.

Thursday afternoon I got a panicked call from my "weekender" neighbor. He arrived and his driveway was blocked with a fallen tree and he had HVAC repair coming to replace his condenser unit.

No problem I'll just take the New Holland over and pick up the tree with the grapple. As I approached the fallen tree, I noticed standing water on both sides of his driveway. The tree was an obvious dead one that had blown over during high winds we had a few days ago, and was straight across his driveway. I grabbed the base end with the grapple and lifted it slowly to break the rest of the root ball loose. So far .... so good.

I backed up and grabbed the tree where I thought good balance point would be, and lifted entire tree easily, the moved it forward about 20 yards to a clear area just off of the drive. I turned left to get the tree parallel to the driveway and dropped it with my rear wheels still on firm driveway. All still good. A bit of mud on part of front tires ..... no big deal.

No way to turn around on his narrow driveway so, kept going down to his parking area by his house. I carefully turned around, waved goodbye, and headed back up the driveway. As I neared the swampy area where I moved the downed tree, my neighbor's idiot wife was coming down the driveway in their SUV, couldn't wait a few minutes for me to get out of there. I should have just stopped and backed down the driveway to their house but, it was about 1/4 mile. I got over to the side, so the idiot woman could get by and could feel the tractor sinking in the quicksand. I could go backwards, pushing with the grapple but, was almost against a big live oak tree.

Lucky for me, another neighbor has a 110 HP track steer and when I called him he was on his way back from a hydro mulching job and three miles away. We hooked a 30K tow strap on front of my tractor and two minutes later I was back on firm ground.

Haven't heard a word from my neighbor.

Looks like today will be a "pressure washer" day.

No good deed shall ........ remain unpunished ....... for long!

Hope everyone has an excellent weekend.

Prayers to all.

You can say that again. You should've had a standoff with her and let her get stuck. I just can only imagine the muck it would take to stick that thing. I go through some messy stuff on the MFWD 5420 that amazes me.

Well my HVAC is running. Tech had simply left the circuit breaker off. But on the way out from under my house I hit the top of my head on the duct work metal hanging strap...same place I did a couple of months ago.

But this time I'm sitting in the urgent care center (25 miles from home) waiting for 1.5 hours to get stitches with blood running down my forehead.

glad to hear your stitched up. I'll bet that smarts.

I tried to till a bit in the garden...nope...still too wet and gumbo mud. Need more compost.

Thanks. Was much worse than I thought. Doctor took a pic and I sent it to my wife in NC for extra sympathy. Not sure I can figure how to get another tractor out of it, though.

You need a piece of equipment big enough to lift that end of the house up, so you won't bump your head again. :)

RNG- Thanks for the video. We have the same size tank. I really need to call that tree service Monday about tree removal.

I discovered this AM that the company from whom I had purchased those defective ice crampons via Amazon had responded to my less than stellar Amazon product review requesting the purchase ID# which they probably already had and recommended that I convey this information and a description of the product failure which was clearly posted w/i the review and conveniently did not supply a site nor address to send the requested info. Now PO'd I sent Amazon a defective, dangerous product report. The last thing I want is another aggravation like a lawsuit and dealing with a lawyer who will get 33% of any settlement for my 100% of the work, pain, and suffering. I was forced to do that years ago with an. automobile insurance company (who hired a private detective rather than pay legitimate medical claims and which ultimately cost the insurance company $) and vowed that I would never repeat the experience. Maybe with luck the company will refund my purchase "to make me whole again".:mad::(:censored: Rant over.

Sorry for your frustrations. It's good to rant and get it out. Hope you get some constructive feedback. Sounds like they won't accept any.

L4new, keep that snow up there. I saw where an super cold is coming in the next week. Plenty of negative numbers in F.
