23° and it’s raining. Nothing good can come out of those conditions.
PLEASE READ!
I have one garage door opener that will not function properly below around 25-27°, it will come up about two feet and stop. If I hit the button and lift a little, it opens fine. I can’t find any binding and I have lubricated the tracks and rollers. The doors are not particularly heavy, the openers are Genie chain drive units that were premium units designed for heavier doors. Above 30° it works as well as the other two.
Opinions please.
Mine were complaining this morning with 5°.When my doors will not operate in cold weather. I use a garage door lube made by liquid wrench. Got it at Lowe’s. Mine sometimes give me problems when temperatures are around 0°.
Still not sure of what to think about all those "melted" beemers. Can you take them to the scrap yard?
The widow wants to hang on to them, and my friend says he plans some sort of yard art display. They saw enough heat that even the steel parts are useless. Besides the rust, whatever work hardening was in them is gone so they're no where near as strong as they once were. She was very happy with her settlement with the insurance company for them, though; she hinted that it ran into tens of thousands of dollars.![]()
