A couple of does feeding in the evening. Some pretty cool bug action too.

Nothing special going on but haven't posted in a while. Just realized some of my videos had the dates messed up. Not sure what that is all about.

Still waiting the delivery of my granddeer. I thought they looked fatter a couple of weeks ago but maybe I was mistaken.

They are loving the fresh water I have been giving them. I didn't clean and fill the bucket for a couple of days while it was raining and yesterday I saw it was FULL of dirty looking rain water. Cleaned it out and put fresh well water in and they drank half a bucket full last night.

I thought these girls had already given birth but something is definitely kicking inside the larger one. It's a lot more obvious in the raw video playing full screen.

I hope they do bring them around to see us but I have read they hide their young in the brush when they go to feed. Time will tell.

These deer will still not let me sit on the porch and watch. Camera action is all I get.

I may taper off amounts till I run out and stop the feeding. I'm pretty sure they are not dependent on me. I only put a little in each of 6 dog food pans. Several different deer stop by and snack on it different times of the night. I also see them graze on the grass. They have plenty of grass to graze on.

I will probably continue to put a bucket of water out. They seem to prefer my well water. When it fills with rain I don't see them drink from the bucket or puddles. When I fill it with fresh well water they will drink a 1/2 bucket a night.

What camera are quick to take a picture? I have some game cams but they seem to be slow to sense a moving object and take a picture. I would like to have a camera that if an ATV drives by it will get the picture immediately. Any suggestions?

On jan 12 I took photos of deer crossing the ice 2 km away. I knew they were headed to our homestead. Jan 18 they landed in our field to yard for the winter. Hopefully more is on their way. We usually have 10 to 15 deer. Next summer I am hoping to make a food plot a guy up the road is shooting coyotes. There are way to many coyotes. Hopefully we will increase the herd. Here is a documentary of the deer in my area.

A documentary of white tail deer. - YouTube

I tried a couple of the inexpensive game cameras. Got a few low quality shots of some rumps.

I am using Reolink security cameras now. They have required a significant learning process and at times I have struggled to keep them working but the results pay off.

I planted a couple of acres with a seed mix that was supposed to attract deer. Seems it repelled mine.

I had a dozen different deer coming by when I first started feeding corn in pans. I ended up with two dominant does that would run the others off then feed. Eventually those two does were all I ever saw so I stopped putting out the pans of corn and planted the field.
There were a half dozen playing out there a few weeks ago. I see tracks all over but for some reason I haven't gotten many videos. May be because I don't check it every day.

Foxes were playing around the cameras the other evening and unplugged them. They managed to tear one of the power wires off and I haven't found it so I just have one camera running.

Foxes are thieves. Wife had a brand new pair of shoes. She left them on our deck and the fox tracks gave testament that it was a fox that went with one of them. My wife having two feet said may as well leave the second one out. Sure enough the little bugger came back and took the left shoe the next evening. This time we watch it go down the road towards her den. Likely the new pair of shoes ended up being chew toy.
