I can't seem to find anyone in my area (Gaffney, SC) who has a 20' section of 15" culvert. Where do you guys buy this stuff? Tractor supply doesn't have it but can order it; however, the shipping is really high. Just looking for a good source before I waste a lot of money.

Menard's sells Hancor plastic culvert in various diameters and lengths.

There is also a building supply place near me that sells re-mesh, rebar, culverts and the like.

Cadillac Culvert Co. Home - Cadillac Culvert, Inc.

Visit your local DOT or DPW yard and see who supplies them.
Or in some localities your local municipal road maintenance department will provide it to you at their cost.

Edit: Corrected typo.

Just south of Raleigh,NC (Garner) they make and sell reinforced concrete culvert, 15" 6' sections. i believe they charge about $125 for "seconds".. Slightly blemished in the production but works fine.

Check with concrete plants. Our local plant has the double wall plastic ones. Also try a feed store.

Plumbing suppliers generally have culverts. There's a Ferguson Enterprises in Greenville. Looks like that's maybe 40 miles from you. The one I do business with in Charlottesville, Va. delivers.

Around here in tidewater Virginia, Ferguson sells stormwater products and stocks them, and Core & Main (formerly "HD Supply" and "HD Waterworks" before that) has them too. I have a Core & Main about 5 miles from my home, so I opened an account there, but they do cash sales too.

I have bought several NDS dual-wall smooth-bore culvert pipes from Core & Main and they have very good prices. Have bought and used 12" and 15" pipe. If I recall, they only stock the pipes with o-ring spigot on one end (male side) and bell on the other (female side) but you can trim the ends back with a sawz-all if you want blunt ends. The first time I put in a culvert I left the ends alone, and that was a good thing because I decide to widen it a few years later and was able to just add new sections of pipe to each end and get a nice watertight seal.

They can special order ends, couplings, etc, if you want to get more fancy.

I am a big fan of the plastic dual wall pipe. It's light enough for one man to handle and is plenty strong as long as you have 12" fill over the top of the pipe. Regardless of the pipe material, be sure to bed it properly on the bottom and fill around it properly.

Here in my area, Lowes has them, but so does most lumber yards and bigger feed supply/ farm fencing places. Lowes keeps them in stock out in there Garden area where they keep fencing supplies and 20 foot lengths of PVC pipe. Their prices are fair, but I've found that if I tell the owner of the farm fence and supply place what it's selling for at Lowes, he will sell to me for ten bucks less.

$262 is what they are listing one for at Lowes.

Yep. I run a grader for my township. I purchase culverts for residents often. What we pay, they pay. Savings of 30-40% below retail suppliers.

While you are there discuss your project. I've provided the township grader for finish work many, many times at no cost to the taxpayer.

Just checked our governmental cost. $5.10 per foot for 15" dual wall plastic.

Don't buy from a retailer unless you have to....

DO NOT buy from Lowes,,, DO NOT,,,

Have I mentioned,, DO NOT buy from Lowes,,,

Lowes sells single wall, the website says their culvert is heavier than single wall,,
IT IS NOT double wall,,

Luckily, I only bought one, and when I got it home, found it was "thicker" single wall,,

I should have taken it back, the Lowes single wall 12" culvert can only flow 1/2 the water that a double wall pipe can flow.
I have since installed three 12" double wall culverts,, the double wall, due to the smooth interior, flows water crazy fast,,,

My neighbor was the first to notice the water speed,, I saw him and several others standing in the rain looking at the double wall culvert.
A couple days later, I asked what they were looking at,, they were there to see the water velocity,,,

I may end up tearing out the Lowes culvert, if it clogs due to slow water,,, :confused2:

DO NOT buy from Lowes,,, DO NOT,,,

Guess Lowes is different from place to.place. Here, they sell double wall plastic culverts, which is what's shown in the link to my local store.

How heavy the culvert is is irrelevant to rather it’s double wall or not. They didn’t claim its double walled. You should have noticed the inside wasn’t smooth in 2 seconds. Sounds like buyers remorse to me.

Oh, I agree 100%, at the time, I did not know Roanoke had a half dozen places that handled double wall,,

I had called or visited the local "farm" supply locations, they all carried thin wall single wall.
I was worn out from shopping, and bought the Lowes.

A couple weeks after I installed the Lowes culvert, I found the double wall.
and actually, the double wall was cheaper than the Lowes pipe,,,

Seems like there would be some procurement/contract issues. Governments usually can only sell material to the public by publishing for bids. I had to buy my culvert from a local farm supply and pay for it myself. County would install it on their dime since it's in the right of way, but since I didn't have a 20' trailer, they agreed to pick it up for me and bring it with them.

Sorry you were treated that way. If a culvert is in the right of way we provide it and install it.

Where are you located?
