ABS pipe union (straight) not for sale in USA???

Hope someone can shed some light on this. Previous owner’s builder used ABS under all sinks, transitions to PVC in the walls. Kitchen sink run from P trap to wall is about 3 feet, collects dregs and needs to be cleaned out every few years. Decided to add an ABS pipe union to the end where the run enters the wall to make clear out much, much, much easier and more effective.

Cant find a 1 ½ ABS straight pipe union for sale in US. All kinds of them in Canada. Local plumbing supply houses within 50 miles have no availability, can't order. All kinds for sale in Canada and UK...see Bow ABS/DWV Union coupling, Black, 1-1/2.

Gluing PVC to ABS is an invitation for code inspector’s wrath. House is on a septic, so chemicals not the answer. Straight walled steel jacketed rubber coupler is code compliant but adding a rubber section to ABS pipe would be adding a weak link. Thought about adding a T/Y fitting at the wall end of the run to use as a clean out but space is at a premium. Straight union would be the best. So far none of the places in Canada offer out of country shipping.......

All seems very odd......

I would think about side stepping the inspector by using metal drain that then connects via a gasketed slip fitting to the ABS pipe, making things code compliant.
