Don, I hope you are able to get to the "ends" so you can get some seat time. Sounds like your making progress. Did you get a pull-down stair yet? If so, which one did you get? I need one for my shop's storage area.

I did get one from Home Depot. Werner aluminum ladder pull down. It will be a few days before I can install it, I just got an email that looks like it might lead to some seat time - TOMORROW and the hiking club is having perfect weather for trail making this week. I am also still strengthening the 2X4 trusses in the garage attic that the ladder will fit between. The pull down comes in two 2 sizes 22.5" or 25" wide by 54" long. RNG .... I feel your pain with AT&T stores. We declare a holiday, if we get more than 2 bars on cell phones, at the ranch. I've tried to find out what AT&T plans to do about our very poor reception / service in this area. People in stores, including managers, are phone sellers only. Online leads you down one rabbit hole after another and their 800 service people are less than incompetent at doing anything but transferring you to "another department. The bad thing is that AT&T is the only thing that works at all in our area. Rant over. .

Thanks for the feedback, Rick. I got the feeling that the AT&T people on the other end of the line felt as abused by the system as I did. I can't help but notice the stark difference between them and the Verizon Wireless people. I didn't get a definitive answer when I "chatted" with the Verizon person the other day, but they did make sure my phone was properly configured by running me through a couple of setting checks and a reset on their end. But the time that really sticks out in my mind is when I spent that month back in Ohio and found out that my cheap-o Straight Talk provider, on the Verizon network, wouldn't allow tethering, so I had no Internet access for my laptop. The Verizon people at the local store tried, but were no help. But when I called, I was transferred through a series of departments/people, each of which knew exactly what to do to get my phone back on their network. Took the better part of an hour, but when they were done I could tether the phone and I had access again from the laptop. Very impressive. AT&T would be an absolute last resort.

When my 100 HP New Holland was about 3 months old. I hit an antler, in one of our pastures, and it punctured the sidewall on front tire. Unrepairable. Replacement was $1,025.00. Ouch!!!

Buddy ran over a buck in his commuter car and it punctured his gas tank. He turned to drive back the 10 miles home and barely made it....gas pouring out.

Well the quest to find an in to the tractor during the club’s business meeting was a bust. I found out the club donates 4000 pounds of organic produce to meals on wheels and two other charities. I’ll have to hang out in the tractor shed some Saturday.
The afternoon Trail Blazers was fun our group is now five. Two have been dropped for some unknown reason. ??

Wife had international language classes and computer classes. This whole week is filled. Saturday I have 4 things at the same time, I might be able to squeeze in two.

I was telling the Trail Blazers this elderland is like a cruise you can sit in you cabin or do many activities.

I need to buckle down on the tractor investigation. I can’t believe 6 months and no seat time!

Good morning, although it's windy, there is not so much cloud this morning, which is just as well as the 2 solar panels I have for keeping batteries topped up on the Fergie and the old Subaru have for the last few weeks been producing less electricity than the charge regulator consumes.

One way or another it will a cracking day as I need some more kindling and the paint I slapped on this cracker should now be dry enough for me to use it.

Good morning, everyone! Snow showers and 20 deg F here. I'm on the east side of a range of hills called the Blue Hills, about 20 miles inland from the NH Seacoast and near the Maine border. We have about an inch on the ground right now, forecast to change to rain showers as the day progresses. Some mixed winter precipitation possible. High near 35F. Winds light and variable.

There's not enough snow to fire up this new tractor owner's Kioti. We had early snows in November, which prompted the tractor purchase I've been contemplating for the last couple of years. I've been reading this interesting thread for the last week and thought I'd jump in with my first post. Have a good day, all!

Good evening all. 38F for the start, mostly clear sky, light wind. Wind stayed light, sky was partly cloudy less high cirrus than yesterday, with high temp of 56F. Repeat of yesterday, started with more leaf pick up, then bike ride, then nap, finish with dog walk.
Ron, nice cart pic, I remember two guy from college who raced, one was 100cc McCullough class, forget the other.
RNG you may recalled I changed from ATT to Verizon 6 months ago because they had network issues in my neck of the woods. Neighbor hood chatter shows issues still not resolved
Jay no presents this morning, but still getting reminded I am behind on the menu enhancements

Rick have you looked into adding a M-cell. The one Randy sent me turned my router into a short range cell tower and went from 1 bar occasionally to a solid five in the house and yard. I don't know what it does but it does it good. You have to have a good internet service to use it.

I remember back when I was about 24, and had never been on anything bigger than a 8n, my buddy rented a 35 hp tractor and shredder. His dad had just bought some land near town and we wanted to build a dirtbike track on it. He rented it on a Saturday, so we had it all weekend. We had 4 guys, pulling shifts, running the tractor. We had to go to the parts store and buy a box of 10 shear bolts. The shredder was a 5 footer, but the heavy shrubs and brush limited our speed. We might have gotten 40 acres cut, in about 25 hours. It was tough going. His dad was so glad he paid for the rental. We built a flat track, about 1/4 mile oval, in the back of the land.

Well I thought so, but have been seeing some chatter over club e-mails that the tractor door can't be opened because of some upper rail problem. Might have to do a door repair first. Just another small obstacle, not a problem.

The Verizon Wireless rep I spoke to was really pushing a device that routed cell phone calls over WiFi and then to the Internet. I explained to him that my Internet comes in via satellite, and the latency makes voice communication next to impossible. I offered to call him using WiFi calling from the iPhone before he slowed down enough to understand what I was trying to tell him. So yeah, you need a pretty passable Internet connection before one of those M-cell gadgets is gonna work for you. Most of us hicks out in the sticks don't have anything near good enough to qualify, and Verizon just don't get it.
