Shop tool box choices

Bought a US General from Harbor F. and I'm not happy with it. The drawers are too low profile to really hold anything.

Picked it up today, it was all cleaned up and touch up painted where it was needed. I started filling it with tools and realized ..it is a really..really big box...

No such thing as too big

I'm extremely happy with my Harbor Freight US General 72" and 56" combination. My only real gripe is the lid on the 56" top box is about a 2" clearance where the channels cross it, so it's so small that you really can't put anything substantial up there.

Or maybe go with a quality vintage box that comes with some history? Just as an example:

Mac toolbox - tools - by owner - sale

Those Mac boxes are better built (with the exception of the plastic detents on the drawer slide, which have a forever warranty no money to ship them to you anyway warranty) than all the new sub $4K cheap boxes. Those Mac boxes are 24" deep but I resent not having 30" deep drawers these days as many weird mechanic sets are nearly 30" deep.

Thatr's a well build box out of the late 90s, as I recall. Good for you!
